To find out what the laws in your state says, you should go to the states website or type in to google sex offender Indiana for instance. SOSEN and Reform Sex Offender Laws are both advocate groups that lobby for the rights and law reform. Both sights are good places to find articles etc. But for what you are needing I would go to your state's General Assebly website and look at the laws. If I were you, I would consult an attorney now!
Msg me if you need to!

My son looked at ONE child porn video and it had already been deleted from his computer before he was turned in to Navy authorities by his wife (now ex). From reading the stories of others, he got off pretty easy with his sentence less than a year in prison ( I believe his good record in the Navy helped there ) but will have to be on the Registry in Ohio for either 25yrs or for life. I guess it depends on what the Navy says. I can't seem to find out anything about it from my local law enforcement.
Try to stay focused on the important things (family and God if you believe). Your family will need your strength and support. And please know that we will be here to listen. I usually can't help much with advice but I can be supportive and I can (and will ) pray for you and hope for a good outsome.

My daughter-in-law says their little boys, my grandsons, came through the interrogation and physical examination just fine, seemingly with not much trauma at all. She says she was much more traumatized than they were.
She and my son are doing a little better each day. The first day they couldn't eat or sleep, but they're getting a little more able to do both as the days go by. My son is staying in motels every night, but may come here to stay with me for a while. I told him having him here with me would be the silver lining in all of this. You could tell he had been crying when he answered my phone call this evening.
This hurts soooooo bad! I just want to wake up from this nightmare and forget it ever happened.
Thanks to all of you for your kind, helpful, and comforting words. Where would I be without you?
Big Hugs!

If my son goes to prison, my next biggest fear is that he will be raped. From reading things on the Internet, that seems like a very scary possibility. My son is not at all the tatoo/body piercings/huge muscles type. He is very compassionate and tenderhearted. He even hates killing insects.
Have any of your loved ones been raped in prison? Am I being overly nervous about this?
I think it probably depends on the state, but the situation my guy is in is not dangerous. He is in a medium level prison (out of three levels) because of his crime. As far as he tells me, there is no real danger there. I too was worried - as was my guy - before heading to prison. But, it hasn't been as bad as he thought.
Honestly, if your son has addiction issues relating to porn, he probably has child porn on his computer :(. Unfortunately, an addict has a hard time resisting things. And traces can be found even if the guy thinks he has erased everything.
I am sorry you are headed down this horrible road. I am willing to communicate with your son's wife if she's interested at any time. Although, I am sure now is not the right time for anyone with all the shock going through everyone's systems.
Sincerely,
Merk
Chances are the police already have something tying your son to child pornography to get a search warrant from a judge. Our attorney said he defended someone that was being charged with possession of child pornography and when he asked to see the images they were of the defendant's 4 year old son. Unfortunately, that was not my son's case.
Is your son in MO also?
As we say take care of yourself and maybe encourage your daughter-in-law to come here and talk to some of the ladies who's husbands are in the same situation.
