I sent my congressman an email about this. He came back and said that he agreed that we shouldn't keep services like food stamps from the people who do need them, regardless if they committed a crime or not.

I'll tell ya, what a bunch of idiots we have running this country. The idea for keeping sex offenders from getting food stamps was an extension of the rule that drug offenders could not get food stamps. Well, drug offenders were barred because too many were using them to buy drugs. What's a sex offender going to buy with them.... food? How dare a sex offender need to eat! They need further punishment by starvation! And their family should starve, too, simply for being associated with THEM!

I am being facetious, of course!! Too many brainless Bozos in Congress. Seems like they've been outing themselves left and right lately, too. When is our country going to get back its heart?

I assume using the same logic as the drug offender laws, we could buy sex with food stamps. I could write a story about how that goes down and make a bunch of meat-related puns, but I would likely be censored.

At the rate Ohio is going, if they make it retroactive i'll only lose $47 in food stamps. My rent is 60% of my monthly income but they only see fit to give me enough to buy a few pounds of rice and beans.
