I have worked in prison reform, with sex offenders, with those on the sex offender registry for almost 20 years now. I don't post on this forum anymore, as most of the support people have moved to the new forum here----

Back to your problem at hand. If your guy is off probation and is not on parole----has no paper time----then he can legally live with you and the minor children. In other words, it is not against the law.
The problem you might possibly encounter is if the biological father of the children complains to CPS that a sex offender is living with his kids. CPS will then likely open an investigation and make your life hell. They could even take your children from you.
I would strongly advise that you have a long talk with the children's father and ensure that he has no problem with a sex offender living with them.
If you have a problem, it will be from the Child Protection Services or the DHS, not the law.
Hope this helps.

But anyone can file a complaint with CPS; it does not have to be the father of the children. If CPS should receive a complaint from a citizen, then CPS would likely open an investigation. After they finished their investigation, they may just drop the matter. But if someone files a complaint, they will probably be on your doorsteps wanting to talk.
They will want you to prove to them that the children are in no danger.
It would be money well spent to speak to an attorney in your area to get a better picture how they handle these situations in Texas. The cost would be nominal and it will give you some peace of mind.
