I think politicians are now in a unspoken contest to see who can outdo the others in coming up with the most draconian, repressive, harmful legislation they can, all in the name of 'protecting' the sweet innocents.

These politicians that keep introducing bills about sex offenders do so because they want the win and the accomplishment on their record and they know that sex offender bills are some of the easiest to push through. No one sticks up for sex offenders for the most part so there is no citizens opposition and the general public still thinks that these laws protect them. To me most of these politicians that come up with these crazy bills are obsessed like the vigilantes and give absolutely no thought to the fact that these are people many with families. Instead they think of sex offenders as monsters with no connections to anyone. The only thing I try to tell myself each time one of these insane laws are passed is that the more and more of them that are passed it is another chink in the wall as the repercussions from these laws become apparent – it is a stepping stone for the public and the legislators to see there is a problem. Unfortunately it is the RSOs that pay the price but in history it is the oppressed that often have to pay the price before someone sees that it is oppression. I will send the letters this afternoon – what a crazy woman!

oh bulshit this woman has joined the sack of nuts already out there saying you can't celebrate any holiday not even a birthday don't mean to offend anyone but this woman is trying to force every registery there to become jehovah witness last time i checked we have the right to celebrate our kids birthdays and birthdays of loved ones we have the right to celebrate the birth of our lord and savior jesus christ and also his resurrection and halloween come on that right there is called common sense the chances of a kid being snatched up is pretty much slim to none the only time you hear about a kid being snatched up is when they go alone trick or treating or when they go ahead where no one can see them thats when they get snatched up and it's alway blame the sex offender i don't think so me i say blame the parents because it's there responsibility to watch there kids and keep an eye on them no matter where you go we are not scapegoats plain and simple when will people learn this

Any way, he stood up in front of the State House and Senate and admitted to 'Nude Hot Tubbing with a 15 year old girl,(Only because she had already gone to the Media..She was also blackmailing him, but so what) and this is a 'No Shitter', he got a STANDING OVATION for being honest and asking for forgiveness...Of course, he was never even charged and a few months later, his accuser was murdered,..... coincidence? Maybe....
Around the same time, the State Senate President, his name was Killpack, was arrested for DUI and then tried to get the AG to intervene, and scumbag that he is, the AG stayed away from that, but still, Killpack just got a slap on the wrist and a 45 day suspension on his DL, anyone else would have got at least 5 days AND an ignition Interlock Device(Which are made in this State, go figger)...
Hell, out current AG, John Swallow(OK, I'm biting my tongue here) 7 months in office is already under FBI investigation for corruption....
Hell, this is a State with a fairly small population....

Seriously 1) write you congress and tell them to stop and 2) do not re-elect anyone currently in office. Only if we (the people) impose term limits will the politicians start addressing real issues and not those that they believe will get them re-elected.

I do not know if any of you will remember the details of this but I often think about this story that was in the news many years back a young woman disappeared in D.C. I believe she was a Page or Intern or something. But it was all over the news for months and the last person she was known to be with the politician she worked for – there was speculation that they were involved or that she was preggie etc. But then you never heard anything else about it and she was never found as far as I know. That story has always haunted me for some reason …

Rep.Gary Condit (D- California) has always been suspected of being involved with Chandra Levy's disappearance but was never charged.....Many believe that the guy convicted of her murder was Condit's "Fall Guy"...I became interested because Condit was from Lodi CA. close to where I was stationed and was headline at the time....
