If she was a minority, overweight, unattractive, and in need of dental work, they will throw the book at her.

Our long held beliefs that women are the weaker sex and that they should not be subjected to harsh conditions because they bear our children are too big a hurdle for us to overcome.
When I say the "weaker" sex, I do not mean to be derogatory, but women are seen as dainty, soft and cuddly, who have their emotions closer to the surface. Men are seen as creatures that are to be rough and tough with little outward emotion. Women are supposed to cry; men are not.
Our little girls play house with dolls; young men play war with soldiers and stick men.
Our long-held, learned core values will probably never allow us to treat women in the same manner we treat men in the criminal justice system.

even in this day and time it's nothing to hear guys brag about being "broken in" by an older woman. or being "showed the ropes" by the older babysitter or the woman down the block after mowing her lawn or walking her dog.
pool boy, anyone???
and yet everyone is so quick to agree that the 'female' of the species are deadlier than the male. and we know, history can prove that women can be just as vicious and deadly as any man. i honestly don't think that it's only the men that can be vicious or deadly. i think it's that the women just haven't been as easily caught as the men. i think a whole lot of vicious, deadly women have been overlooked! or else a whole lot sneakier and that comes right back to the idea that women are softer, gentler and are the nurturers. people don't want to think or believe that women can be just as bad if not worse.

I feel bad for them. They just don't know what they did to their lives and their families, etc. Not saying right, but everyone makes mistakes.
