I week or so ago, I was reading through a lot of old postings. I think I went back as far as September 2014. I came across a post where somebody gave a very detailed explanation or rather profile of a pedophile and how there are different types and it was very detailed and even described such attributes as certain tyes of pedophiles are more interested in children or youth oriented television programs, etc. I want my husband to read this information because he is co-mingled in a case with someone who is described in that post someone had put up. I CAN PLAINLY SEE THIS INDIVIDUAL IN THAT DESCRIPTION and I think my husband's naeivity or denial is whats put him in the position he is in. Does anyone recall that post on this forum. If you could direct me to it I would be most grateful.

I celled with a pedophile on two different occasions. One was for about six months and the other only a short time.

They fall in love with children just as I could fall in love with a woman and the ladies here could fall in love with a man. Of course, this is only true if both are heterosexuals.
They had "dates" with their object of affection, which included watching TV together just as any adult couple would.
They were born with an attraction toward children. They tried to have normal man/woman relationships, but it really never worked out well because they were not really attracted to women.
They did not choose to be pedophiles any more than you or I choose our sexual preferences. They knew at an early age that they were "different" than most guys.
They always stressed the fact that true pedophiles would NEVER molest or hurt a child by committing a physical crime against that child. Why? Because they actually loved the child and they would never hurt them or make them uncomfortable. Just as a man would never rape or hurt a woman he loved, the pedophiles would never hurt the child.
This fact is something they ALWAYS stressed to me. They did not like child molesters or people who sexually assault children. They said those people were child molesters, not to be confused with pedophiles.
BTW, both of them were in prison for crimes non-sexual in nature. One had stolen an electric drill from a store (third offense) to support a bingo habit and the other was in prison for repeated DUIs.

A pedophile loves the child he is attracted to. He actually LOVES them just as much as a guy loves his girlfriend or a woman loves her husband---and vice versa.
Pedophiles are not child molesters nor do they physically abuse children. They love them and will not do anything to hurt them. He told me once that "I have an illness; I know that, but I would never do anything to hurt a child."
Pedophiles hate child molesters.
Of course, he never got into any arguments with other inmates, never went to the gym or watched NFL football like many of the guys. Most of the straight inmates liked to watch reruns of Baywatch with Pamela Anderson and all her friends. My cellmate was never interested in things that normal guys liked.
I would come in from work and he would be watching TV, but it would be Nikelodean or something like a Sesame Street type program.
But other than enjoying kids programs, he was fairly normal.
He once explained to me that "his problem"----I never heard him use the word "pedophile"----led him to wanting to be around children and preferring their company to adults. He told me he tried marriage once, but it just did not work.
Some of you might be wondering what he was in prison for. He had a gambling problem, namely bingo and the slots at Las Vegas; in fact, he had been to Vegas many times. He stole a power drill out of a store and got caught to support his gambling habit. He had done this many times before, so they sent him to prison for a five year sentence.

PS One thing funny about him is that he had an obsession with Meyer Lansky, one of the old time mafia guys in the mob. He would read all he could about that guy. He liked---really almost worshipped him----because Mr. Lansky had ties to underworld gambling in Las Vegas.

From what you have told me, I think much of this mess has been caused by your husband getting pulled in by these other two guys.
Your husband was incredibly naïve and should have never put himself in the situation he was when he was arrested and charged.
