When I was in prison, our choice of TV programs was extremely limited, but we did get the History Channel. I am not a big fan of organized religion, but I am interested in history, philosophy, and faith.
One Saturday mornings, there was a program called "Mysteries of the Bible" which interested me, so I watched it each week.
One week the commentator, a Jewish Rabbi, spoke of judgment and God. He made a statement that I will never forget and is so true. He said the a higher power is the only being with the qualifications to judge human beings. BTW, if you do not believe in God, his underlying theme was that mortal men are not capable of judging other human beings.
His reasoning was this-----There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us that only a higher power has the knowledge to sort everything out and pass judgment. Good, decent men and women are capable of committing terrible crimes. People trying to judge others are just foolish, as they do not have the capacity to see in one's heart.
The great majority of sex crimes are not committed by evil people with an evil intent. Many are committed by normal, everyday people who, for some reason, do something very stupid in a lapse of judgment.
