Hi everyone.  Today is my first day in this support group... and I'm grateful I found it. I just needed somewhere that others would understand a bit about what I'm going through right now.

It's been a month since my husband's sentencing... and honestly, it turned out the best we could have possibly hoped for. He got a deferred adjudication for Attempted Possession of Obscene Material with the Intent to Promote, which was reduced from the original possession of child pornography charge. This is a blessing, because it is a non-registrable offense, and he was not actually convicted, so he doesn't have a felony on his record (grateful for the amazing work of our lawyer to get that done). He does have 10 years of probation and is currently serving time in the county jail, but the judge is reducing his sentence due to not wanting him to go AWOL with the military (again, a huge blessing).

We do have some huge hurdles to overcome here in the next few weeks and months... as of right now he cannot live with our daughter, which creates a tumoltuous living situation. We don't know what our lives will be like after he gets out, and since he's getting out sooner than expected (originally he wasn't getting out until October) I find myself scrambling to figure out our next steps. We want to move back to our family in another state... so we are going to have to go through the transfer process - Anybody have experience with that? Any advice?

I just feel stuck I guess. It's hard knowing that my family has been put in this position by the man I know and love... and especially since his crime was committed 10 years ago, before we even knew eachother, and unfortunately was discovered recently. I'm not angry at him for what he did... hell, I think I understand it more than he even does. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he could never hurt ANYBODY... but right now he's being lumped into the same category as all SOs... violent or not. And that's hard for me to process.

I'm choosing to stand by him, as is my family, because they know the person he is. But I have to make that choice every day. And some days it's easier to make that choice than others. I don't know what our lives are going to look like.... and that scares me.

The not knowing is the worst of all. At least if I know... I can deal with it one step at a time.
