Hi, I'm from Kansas and my husband I'd incarcerated in a small facility. He has been in prison about 14 months. He was arrested in April of 2014. I am currently waiting on getting disability. I'm also on the waiting list for section 8. I need to know can my husband join me on section 8. His projected release date isn't til Jan of 2021.
If anybody can also tell me what he can and cannot do would be a great help. We are from Johnson County.

Tammie, I would not stress too much about it at this time, since he will not be released until 2021. I am sorry. Just continue to go on with your life and don't worry about housing too much until it is closer to his release date.
Many people new at this try to take on all the problems at once; they put too much on their plate and become confused and frightened. Take one day at a time and don't stress over things which may or may not happen a year from now.
Take this SLOW and you WILL get through this, trust me.
Stick around the boards and if you have any questions----no matter how stupid they may sound----ask us. We were all once pretty damn stupid about the system.
