I don't get many opportunities to hear my husband's voice. Today he purposely shortened that opportunity. Last night, I couldnt sleep despite 60mg of Restoril...I was wound up and grew increasingly so as I was online reading things, looking at articles, reading the press about my husband's case, looking at my bank balance, and the bills I need to pay this month. All of those things combined kept me awake all night. I have twins who are graduating from high school in 3 months and my biggest priority is keeping our home until August so they have a roof over their heads before they leave for college. I guess you could say I am trying to keep the foreclosure wolf at bay. I am on disability of 1070 dollars a month, and when the constable finally comes and slaps that sign on my door, I'm not really sure where to go and what to do about all of the belongings and things that fill up this 4000 square foot home. By the time my husband called me at 10 a.m. I had spiraled in to nothing but sobs that I'm sure he could not even understand. I told him that I felt like I was in my own prison and my financial worries and my fears vary from the little details like buying shampoo and deodorant for my kids and paying for their caps and gowns all the way up to paying the bigger bills that must be paid each month. I told him that I knew he was in His own hell but the difference is that he knows he's going to get three meals everyday and has a roof over his head and a bed to sleep in and no bills to pay. He doesn't have to worry about the disconnect notice I got from the gas company. the whole time I was telling him this I was sobbing and he kept telling me to calm down and relax, but all I could do was cry, so he hung up on me. I guess it finally really hit me today...I am on my own. He cant do a single thing for me. That's enough to lay ya out for the count. My daughter is a costume designer at her performing arts high school and I was supposed to go this evening and see the play and all the costumes she made, but I cannot. I know she will understand that I cant go. I just need to lie down and regroup and when I wake up I will pray for more faith because right now, mine is fading quickly. My hat is off to all of you wives and love ones who survive this.

Have a talk to the gas and power people explain to them whsts going on and if theres a way you can pay a bit off at a time for the bills. Can you get second had stuff for your kids graduate? Maybe the school can help you out?
Discount shops are a good place to shop and have a look at doing the coupon thing there are people hear who can help you with that just ask.

As far as your home, have you talked to the mortgage company? Sometimes they are willing to work with you because with most banks, the last thing they want is to get stuck with another house they have to try to sell.

In survival mode people tend to talk AT each other rather than TO each other. Each person is so busy trying to keep his or her head above water that they cannot communicate well; all their energies are devoted to just staying alive.
I believe this is the biggest problem with communication between an inmate and his loving family in the free world.
