half way house winstonsalem NC

My son will get out very soon and needs a half way/ transitional house. Anyone know of 1 in the WinstonSalem or Greensboro NC area that would take someone on the registry?

The prison case manager should be researching that for your son. Also, call the parole/probation office for information. They will find the closest one. Please understand that the closest one could be 500 miles away from home.

The information I found is that until recently there were two halfway houses that accepted sex offenders in NC.

One of them was closed about a year ago and recently the second one was shut down because the people in the immediate area complained.

The one in Charlotte is gone, and the one in Wilmington was closed a couple of months ago.

Both suffered from a disease called NIMBYism, but I will continue to look for you.

I thought the Wilmington one was still open. I know they were pressured to quit but last I heard they were going to fight closure.
