Former Illinois Politician Caught with Child Porn

A former Illinois politician that authored a couple of bills to increase the penalties for child pornography has been caught with child pornography on his own computer.

"As a state rep, Farnham co-sponsored two separate pieces of legislation that increased penalties for those convicted of possessing child pornography, including a bill signed into law last August."

Since this happened to my son I've come to the conclusion that those who are involved with the 'law' end of capturing 'sex offenders', like this guy, the Feds in these special units and even probation officers are the sick ones. I think they all have some dark interest in this stuff, or they wouldn't be doing it. Those who protest the loudest...
It's like the head of ICE in Floriduh who was in charge on my son's sting.. also accused and is now in jail for trading cp.

I think you might be on to something. I am a pretty strong individual, but I doubt that I could look at that stuff as an investigator day in and day out. I would soon want to be transferred to another division within the department. Of course, I would never be in law enforcement anyway.

I agree Rew. I couldn't stomach reading the report, so I certainly wouldn't be able to look at that stuff. Porn is addictive, the more you watch, the more of a hold it has on you. So, these guys looking at this stuff for work, day in and out, if they weren't addicted to it before, they will be soon enough. All the more reason to offer treatment to those who do get addicted without fear of incarceration. Treated can help them overcome the addiction and help prevent abuse.
We all know that just looking at it, doesn't mean a person WILL abuse, but for some, it's a gateway. Just like my hubby. Porn wasn't enough. He tried to find harder and harder porn, then wanted to act out. If he was able to get help from the beginning, our daughter would have been saved from years of abuse.
