Floriduh bills for GPS monitoring

I have been following these since we live in Florida and my fiancee is an SO. One has already failed, still waiting to see what happens with the other but they both basically say the same thing so I am hoping both will FAIL

Would the bills only apply to SO's on probation? Is your guy still on probation?

Both are identical but the House bill has movement.

I read both bills.

Neither bill is retroactive and both only apply to offenders whose date of conviction was after October 1, 2015.

Obviously, since everyone's loved one on this forum has already committed or has been alleged to commit a crime, the bill would not affect them.

It is good to know it is not retro but this is one of the most insane things Fl has ever tried - how in the World do they think these folks are going to pay for that monitoring for the rest of their lives? I guess in addition to colonies they will have to build special jails for RSOs who cannot pay the monitoring fee - they must be crazy. At the beginning of this year the passed those laws that among other things requires ALL RSOs to register any car tag number that is at their house - so my son who does not drive and does not own a car has to report the tag number of his room mates car. That is crazy and if I were the room mate I would sue the state. That tag number is now associated with the registration info for an RSO and that is like punishing that person for living there. Once again it is a law that is punishing someone for something they MIGHT do. The thing that bothers me the most about that law and the one that accompanied it requiring all internet identifiers to be reported is that they have never said exactly what they are going to do with the info and I can guarantee that somewhere down the line they are going to publish those tag numbers on the registry. BTW - since the law went into affect that all internet screen names nad identifiers had to be reported many RSOs have said they are receiving a lot of uninvited "friend" requests - guess who that is?
