There is a very nice lady who posts here often who can tell you exactly what you need to do. Her son was in Federal prison for a crime allegedly committed in Florida, but her son was innocent. She moved to the Philadelphia area, set up a residence, and got her son moved directly from his prison in Florida to her residence in Pennsylvania. He was able to bypass Florida completely.
Her profile is here---

Her screen name is Nakohichi. She is a nice lady and a good poster. Send her a message and she will help. She might even get on our forum today or in a few days, see your message and message you here.

If for some reason, you cannot locate her to make contact, message me and I will find the post where she describes what she did to avoid Florida.
BTW, welcom to the board.
And, BTW, Oregon is one of the best states for registrants.
I don't know if your husband will have to use Interstate Compact to get his probation transferred from Florida to Oregon once he is out.

I cannot remember if Nak and her son used ISC or not, but she can tell you.
If Florida ever gets a person on the registry, they are there for life, even if you move out of the state. I have heard that a registrant is on the Florida registry even if he dies.
maisr is so right. Everyone here from Florida can probably tell you some horror stories about how sex offenders are treated in that state. Avoid Florida at all costs.

Federal people don't have to do Interstate Compacts, they are for state custody to different state custody transfers but a federal defendant is never in state custody they are always in federal custody in a federal district and there is a similar process for transferring across federal districts. By moving and getting a residence approved before release a federal defendant can be directly released to that federal district and no transfer process has to happen
Six months is not really a very long time. What happens if you need a little longer? How long can he say in prison/ how long will they keep him before they revoke his parole (or do the Feds operate that way?)
