Is he in jail or prison? I hope they don't have those ridiculous video visits in prison. Those are almost like a form of torture. They have them in the jails here in AZ, they make an unpleasant situation completely unbearable.

he is in county and yea its those video things in another 16 days he can apply for a contact visit but you still cant hug hold hands kiss or anything all you do is sit across from each other at a table

I hear from others here that it does, but for me, it goes day by day. Some days are good, some days, like 2 days ago, I was driving home and something set me off and I was just sobbing, driving down the road. Right now, it's not knowing how long my son is going to be locked up -- he's still in jail waiting for trial/plea bargain -- or where he's going to be sent to prison. There's a prison in his state that's about the same distance from my home as the jail is now -- a little over an hour away -- but that doesn't mean that's where he'll be sent. I'm hoping once everything's settled, for better or for worse, that things will settle down and it will be our new "normal."

It is not that it gets that much better--although after the initial shock, it does get somewhat better--- but with time we able more able to cope with the situation.

Both you and he will feel better when he gets out of that county jail and on to prison. County jails are notorious as hell holes as a place to serve any time. At a prison, he will have more freedom to move around, it will probably be cleaner, and the food might be better.

More than anything, when he finally is shipped off to prison, you can begin to realize that the worst is over and now it is just a waiting game. He just has to serve his time and come home.

Strangely enough, going to prison from the county jail is a form of progress and makes you realize that he is coming home someday.

Keep the letters coming and have hope in your heart. He WILL be fine and trust me, there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. I know, I have been there and I would not tell you if it were not true.

PS Once he is at his destination prison, you should be able to have CONTACT visits. Yes, you will actually be able to touch him and exchange hugs and kisses at the beginning of the visit and at the end of the visit.

Thanks guys I guess im just in a mood I had the kids keep telling me that they missed him a lot today and then seeing all the couples today because it sas a holiday and his brother is still livibg with me and not wanting to oay rent its all just to minch for me today I wanted nothing but to go through the jail till I could fine him and just hug him

Oh we all have days like that!
It's not so much it gets easier it more of a case you kinda get used to it....I do hate saying that! I hope you get proper contact visits soon those hugs when you get them are so special.
