In appears that email between defendants and their attorneys are sometimes being read by the prosecutors and/or law enforcement.

I know that some of you correspond with your loved ones via email, specifically Corrlinks.
Just remember, this email system is NOT secure and if prosecutors have been able to read the emails, then anyone in law enforcement can.
It is perfectly fine to talk to your loved one about the weather or last Sunday's NFL game or even Aunt Bonnie's new kitten, but be careful when discussing anything about the crime for which he or she has been convicted or is in jail or prison for.
I would hate for someone to use any email information and attempt to charge an inmate with another crime.
It should be obvious that communication with an inmate is never secure, but sometimes we let our guard down. Just remember, any communication with an inmate either in jail awaiting the disposition of charges or one in prison serving time is NOT secure.

I am not surprised that jails and prisons aren't honoring the attorney/client relationship. In fact I am surprised that something like this hasn't happened sooner and more often. Or it does and is never brought to public light.
Call me paranoid or just too informed... But I don't even write in a pen and paper diary anymore out of fear of what could be done with the information inside if someone were to get their hands on it. Same with emails and all electronic messaging.
