I've seen kids convinced into suicide, and people black mail their classmates to get them to do regrettable stuff on cam just to have it leaked anyway. In all the shit I've seen on the internet, these fuckers don't take any of it more seriously than nude pictures of girls under 18 and gaming disputes. The only one to speak on behalf of the 10 year old that committed suicide is the father because the justice system always turns their shoulder to those cases, the ones that actually do effect lives, the crimes that do impede social living. I can't remember the last time I've ever felt effected by stupid comments spammed through out video games. We have a goddamned mute button on every game now. Likewise when I was pretty young on the internet my friends had their nude pictures leaked through the internet in an attempt to humiliate them and it didn't even phase them.
I know pleanty of people who had been viciously molested and to this day no justice has befallen any of the perpetrators except for the few who got 2 years probation for it while I sit here in federal prison for having pictures I never even fucking saw. Pictures that foolish girls mindlessly throwout to the internet themselves due to a lack of knowledge of just what the internet is.
These parents don't know any better, their social lives growing up didn't expand past the neighborhood. But now the average kid's neighborhood isn't just one street with a row of houses on it. It's not growing up with only the people around your area. With the internet there are no bounds to the amount of information they can recieve, or to the amount of many different types of people they can talk to.
To a parent it's easy to think your kid would follow the whole "Don't talk to strangers" rule on the internet, after all it's so easy to follow on the streets. It's easy to think it'd never be your daughter desperately seeking attention on the internet, again she's so unlikely to do it on the streets.
There was a website up some time ago, I can't remember the name but it was about cannabalism. I've never really been to the site cause it was taken down before I've heard about it. My friend of Rome, Jeston sent me the cache which is basically a file of the website just before it was taken down. On it was a german dude and a bunch of cultish weirdos talking about their fantasy of being eaten. Someone from the united states flew all the way down to germany just to be killed and eaten (Hence it was taken down). Completely legit though. This was a legit 100% real website cache I read with the postings on it and everything. At first this seems impossible. To imagine how someone would give up their life knowing that someone would be eating them. Could you imagine if this happened somewhere in your neighborhood? Of course you can't, it's improbable. But it becomes probable when you're dealing with massive numbers.
The chances of two people sharing that same fantasy in the same neighborhood are slim to none. But on the internet, a type of person that would be considered 1 in a 100 would now be 1 of a 100. Of the many millions of people who use the internet, 2 wacko people are now likely to find each other and go through with their wacko fantasies. People who like making artwork are likely to find others on the internet. People who enjoy video games are going to find many others who enjoy video games, so on and so forth.
I was a 1 in a thousand in my neighborhood. I didn't fit in. But on the internet, I found anonymous. Then I became one of a thousand. So many of them were like me. Socially retarded and full of hatred and willing to share.
Bottom line, these old farts need a fucking reality check on just what that wander box in their bedroom actually does, cause a new era is coming in and they're not at all prepared for it.

The biggest problem we have in society is that we have lost all our common sense as a nation. When a guy who downloads a couple of naughty pictures of a teenager can receive 15 years in prison, the same as a child molester, there is something wrong with America's psyche.
It gets even crazier than this. In some states the age of consent is 16 years old. In those states a young man can legally have sex with a 16 year old and it is OK. But if he takes a picture of her breasts, he will be charged with child porn and have the book thrown at him, most likely serve prison time, and be on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life. He can have sex with her, but he cannot take a picture of her.
Makes no sense at all.
Most of these laws are driven by misguided emotion----nothing more. The problem is that many of these internet sex offenses or sex offenses among teens are being commited by our young people. Soon we will have an entire generation behind bars or under some kind of supervised release.
We will have a lost generation of young people.

You mention that he should have contacted US politicians or leaders etc. Has it occurred to you that he did not because he knew what he was up against? Has it occurred to you that he knew more than you know right now? Read this article in the NY Times about how the Supreme Court is in the back pocket of the NSA.

Don’t you think that Snowden knew that? I can almost guarantee you that if he had not done it the way he did that we would have heard about a renegade member of the NSA that was shot in a stand-off – I think Snowden was very aware of what he was doing. And ask yourself – who did he harm? He only revealed secrets about things going on in the US that none of us knew about – he did not harm us – he empowered us.
I know you have a hard time believing that these kinds of things and changes can happen in the US – it is heartbreaking for me also – I told you I come from a military family. Now, how many gallons of jet fuel, JP8?were on board the Planes?...My first ship had 2 Pratt and Whitney FT4A Gas Turbines that used JP5 and we once had an Engine room fire, and that shit gets HOT....JP8 is many times hotter than JP5... Come on, all it takes is a little investigation...
