Sure, Honestwitness, there is a LOT of hope. I have been in this sex offender mess for a long time---over 20 years, counting my prison time; so I well know the history of the registry and the court decisions that have addressed our situation.

There was a time, a few years ago, when we were not winning ANY court cases at all. I have seen in the past two or three years a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, as I see the SOs and the registrants starting to win some court battles, and some of the decisions are really big.

So, folks, don't give up. The courts are starting to rule in our favor. Yes, it is very slow, and we will still have our set backs, but we ARE making progress.

Most of all, we are all in this together.

Thank goodness for a little sanity in all of this - and thank goodness for judges that are starting to see that the cops in charge of these SO jurisdictions are becoming Gestapo! I really like how if you read between the lines basically what the judges are saying is how does this help the victim or rehabilitate the person convicted (which is supposed to be the goals) exactly?? One of them even calls it a Scarlett letter!!!

Good point, oneofthem. I had also thought of planting a bush in front of the sign, or a climbing vine that would eventually cover it. Maybe, plant tomato plants all around it and sell them to passersby. You know the old saying about making lemonade. *smile*

Have a friend with a painball gun? then practice your best Sgt. Shultz. Maybe even sacrifice your something in the background, an old chair perhaps? Cos most people I know their aims aren't that accurate.
Then biotch about how they ruined your good chair and got paint on your bushes

Nice to see this, and thanks for sharing. I liked the one from Illinois saying that it may also have consequenses for the families residing there, and innocent people. Someone is starting to realize collateral damage.
