Here is a bizarre story out of Texas.
A case that really hurts our movement for sensible sex offender laws-------------------
Allegedly, a grown man picked up a 17 year old boy and they began living together. They were not related, but they posed as father and son. The 17 year old, with forged documents, was somehow able to enroll in the sixth grade at an elementary school with one purpose---- "to find victims to groom" and "to recruit future victims."
The police found tons of child pornography in the house and now both are in custody.
And this is one of the reasons the public is in love with the sex offender registry and have no problems seeing long sentences handed out for child pornography crimes.

Very sad situation. The 17 y.o. is a victim and perpetrator - probably through Stockholm Syndrome. It is far easier to believe that they 17 y.o. was manipulated into grooming victims. Interesting how they call the 17y.o. a man in this case, in other stories they call them "teens" because they want to slant opinion differently.
UNTIL
they want to charge that vulnerable victim with a crime and try him as an adult. Then all of a sudden a miraculous transformation takes place and the former child victim is responsible and "must face justice for his actions" as any adult would.
Pretty wild way of thinking.

Just in general we need to realize that the Victorian era way of doing things has really messed our country up, stupid Brits! We shouldn't regulate sexual morality, because everyone had a different sense of what that is.
The wording of things plays a big part. Next time you watch something like Primetime or 20/20 think about the vocabulary they are using, what kinds of feelings are they trying to incite? What bias are they showing? Are they really being impartial and a spectator rather than a commentator that is stating influential statements be it on purpose or not. Much of the time I think they are trying to be impartial but sensationalism gets in the way and it causes the bias due to needing to catch people's attention.
If you turn a critical eye on our humble beginnings as a country you begin to see the imperfections of our way of thinking... For instance, the first settlers here were basically pushed out of their mother country due to different beliefs. Already in our nature were to shun those that do not hold the same beliefs as the majority. We have never been perfect as a country, even though we have been led to believe we are the best in everything in the whole wide world. This kind of thinking breeds entitlement thinking in the masses.
