I was just able to access it. Maybe if you have a web that blocks certain images or content may be why you can't see it. The first image you see is a woman in a bra....I know my teenage son's electronics are not able to access any potential adult images, and it would block this one. I would have to review it first to unblock it, so he can view it.

As another said,he is in a position to reach the masses and help educate people on this subject. Most people have no idea what a difficult road this is to travel both for the SO and the family. I don't think people realize all of the offenses that can cause a person to be labeled a SO. I know that I didn't until my son was charged. My son had no physical contact with a minor and he kept deleting the CP that was downloaded by his roommate. His mistake was not reporting his roommate to the police instead of just deleting what had been downloaded. For the SO, there seems to be no end to the persecution even after they have served their time because of the Registry. This may be an ignorant question, but why are SO the only ones who have to register? Shouldn't there be a registry for other crimes such as murder? I would like to know if I have a murderer living next door.

I am new to both this forum and this experience. I am just trying to learn and feel my way through this. Obviously, that was an ignorant statement, however, I never meant to suggest that everyone should be labeled. It was more a comment on the inequity of the system. We've all made mistakes and fallen short. I'm no "better than" anyone else, nor are they "better than" me.

FeelingGuilty: You are allowed to give your unvarnished opinion here (As you can see, I take advantage of the freedom to spout off, right or wrong, also) . We have all been too-long silenced and discussion is not only appreciated but necessary. You have as much or more right to continue the discuss from you point of view. We are ALL "just trying to learn and feel our way through this. Please keep reading and posting and contributing. Don't take all my "opinions" as gospel and I will give you the same freedom. I respect and need to understand what you are think and read and understand how you see things. It helps me to "feel" my way through this swamp also. .

Janet: Thank you for your response. Perhaps I overreacted a tad! I am so glad, though, that I found this forum and all the people who contribute. It has been both a comfort and a help to me. You're right, discussion is necessary. I have hesitated to post, but I see now that it is beneficial. You do get to hear other's opinions and that can be very valuable. Currently, the only penalty available for prosecutors is to charge kids with a felony (the story doesn't say whether kids could be charged for possessing photos of themselves), so this would at least give prosecutors more options.

I don't know about that. I would hope they'd have more sense than to put kids on the registry at all, much less for something that seems to be more ubiquitous these days. I imagine it would depend on the circumstances of each individual case. And I do not know what the difference is between sending an image and "aggravated" sending of an image. I'm sure it will all be much clearer once the legislature is done with it.

JoeHillsGhost: I think Kids names get placed on the registry when the court remands them as adults / they are convicted of a sex offense no matter what the "moderated sanctions" I think it's being charged and convicted of the sex offense that causes the "offender" to be registered"? Maybe I'm wrong...but peeing in public is a low-level sex offense fit for registration if that activity is defined in law as a sex offense...and sexting in this case is still considered a sex offense even if the penalties are "moderated" Please anyone on this forum know the answer here?
