The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.
Hitler actually didn't make that full statement. He did say "The state must declare the child the most precious treasure of the people". The rest is not in Mein Kampf(My Struggle)..Some say it is in the 1943 translation but I have a 1936 copy(in original German text) and the quote is not in there. True, Hitler was taken by children, they were the only ones allowed to call him the familiar "Du"(Instead of the formal "Zie" that everyone else had to, except Ernst Rohm, head of the SA and Hitler oldest friend and supporter, who had murdered in 1934.
I added all these irrelevant facts just to prove my 'Bonifides', I consider my self an 'AMATEUR' historian of Nazi Germany, though NOT a Nazi....I've been to Dachau, just outside Munchen(Munich) and it's a fucked up place..As soon as I walked through the main gate, under the original "Arbeit Macht Frei"(Work is Freedom) sign I got cold..I don't believe in ghosts and such, but I felt the evil that occurred there.
Instead of quoting "Quotes", take a look at the Nuremberg laws of 1935..You will see an almost EXACT parallel with SO laws.
1. Sex offenders are so good at hiding their crimes for which they were initially caught for, they can fool the public and the police year after year even being scrutinized they way they are.
2. The police are looking for RSOs to commit crime but are not properly trained to deal with these elite mastermind criminals who always reoffend.
3. The statistics do not lie, sex offenders do not always reoffend. In fact they have the lowest rate of any crime besides murder.
Which one is most likely to be correct? Does anyone think anymore?
@coastie....that place is fucked up and what went on there is just plain scarey the worst part is people say it was one of the better camps!! No wonder you got chills going in there!
Speaking of that Coastie..I read somewhere that there was a rumor that Hitler didn't die the way history told us he did. That infact he lived out his years in some other country. I don't remember the exact details, but have you heard this one too? Is there any truth to it? ???
But the country does not have common sense anyway. When you have citizens who steadfastly believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old despite fossils being found that are millions of years old, you know the country is in trouble when it comes to critical thinking and common sense.
The older registrants can identify with the sheer lack of common sense used when SORNA or the tier levels were introduced. When I was released in 2000, I was deemed to be an ordinary sex offender. I registered once a year for 10 years.
I did all that, never had a compliance check, never caused a problem. BUT when the tier levels in Oklahoma were enacted in 2007, all of a sudden I magically morphed into a tier 3 sex offender, defined as one "who is most likely to re-offend" and my registration scheme was changed from once a year for 10 years to every 90 days for life.
I don't understand how a sex offender can become MORE dangerous as time goes on without re-offending or any problems. I thought most criminal justice classes taught that offenders became less likely to offend as they got older.
How does someone become a predator all of a sudden--at the snap of the fingers--- for obeying the law??
No common sense. Registry = Political Animal.

Once out of sight, the Nazis could do what they wished to those poor people. Those that lived near those camps, were the same way, apathetic and 'out of sight out of mind' in their thinking... I am glad they were forced to help 'clean' up the mess by the soldiers that liberated those camps back then.
I have been making this connection since my husband got tangled up in this mess back in 2005. Then again, history will repeat itself because the human race just never can seem to learn a thing... we have been repeating this genocide type behavior over and over and over throughout the centuries. Before and after the one we remember best.
As a country, yes WE did this.... We basically almost wiped out the Native American, American Indian, etc... I don't think anyone likes to think about it, but WE DID almost wipe them out completely. We as a half of a country enslaved a whole race of people, and as a whole in WW2 we arrested and put into camps (at least we weren't killing them this time) until the war was over, or does everyone forget the japanese internment camps (a pretty name for CONCENTRATION CAMP, american style)
People always act so shocked about how things could get this bad, I hate to break it to everyone, but we are predisposed as a species to be mean and heartless to our fellow man for any excuse that makes sense at the time.
