I have some questions that maybe you guys have some knowledge on.
My daughter was charged with Agg Sexual Assault of a child but was given deferred adjudication of 10 years probation.Because the PD insisted on the aggravated portion it puts her where she has to register for life.
My question is: How can she serve 10 years probation, never show the conviction, and yet still have to register for life? This happened in Texas.
According to everything I have been able to look up...the aggravated portion is what constitutes that she cannot ever get off the state registry...I still am confused but it looks like she might can get off the national registry at some point.
I did come across some info on an attorney who works on getting SOs off the registry Arch McColl, III in Dallas.....but it really didn't cover her kind of situation. By the way, wonder if this would be any help if we used the fact that this boy was the son of a convicted SO that served prison time, got out on parole and about the same time as her incidents, molested the son, his parole was revoked and he has returned to prison.

There is no national registry per se. Any registries that claim to be federal registries get all their data from the individual state registries. There are 50 individual state registries, but no national registry.
If a person is removed from a state registry, they should also be removed from any national registry.
They do have a deregistration process in Texas. An attorney is needed, it is quite expensive, and is basically untested on a large scale. Also, this dereg process only applies to certain crimes and has a strict criteria.

Tell me, how is it that your grandson is deserving of compassion and restitution for the crime against him but this other boy is not? Was your grandson too short? BTW, What your daughter did is called 'Grooming'.
Unbelievable! Stop making excuses for sexual assaults against children! It doesn't matter if you're lonely, have ADHD, you're not getting your needs met at home, the girl was a slut, you were only looking. None of that is an excuse to sexually abuse a child! Its only after being caught that a person realizes how their choices affect so many but that doesn't diminish what they did. You can support someone convicted of a crime without making excuses for their crime. Just stop it!
Does Larry Nassar look like a monster? Did these girls deserve this? Is his sentence too harsh? I don't think so. But now that he's been caught he just wants everyone to heal and feels that being forced to listen to all these victim impact statements is unfair to him.

I don't think ive seen one person on this page be un caring towards any of the victims in fact we do have a few ladies on here who have been victims in the past.
