My husband had a crappy attorney for trial (that is what we get for getting a PD), but couldnt afford the 10K that everyone was asking for as a retainer. He just got paperwork from the Appeal court asking him to fill it out and send it back in ASAP. AND why did they send this paperwork to him - shouldnt it be given to his PD Appeal Attorney?
I have tried to find an attorney to hire to help us to appeal this case, but when I mention who his PD was, they all back off the case, or at least not willing to touch it until the court transcripts are ready. His PD did nothing to prepare for his trial, he didnt even had a chance to request to be appointed another council before she took the case to trail (in 3 months time from when she was assigned to his case).
Does anyone know a reasonable Appeal Attorney that we could hire (for a retainer of $3-$4K) to help us with the appeal paperwork he recieved and represent him going forward? We live in Nor. Cal.
They want this paperwork to be filled out and returned As Soon As Possible.

Mark here is not just any old run-of-the-mill attorney. He is a guru when it comes to child pornography cases. We are very lucky indeed that Mr. Allenbaugh has taken his time to post here and explain things that will help us. Very few attorneys will even waste their time doing that.
