I'm glad these men didn't let the city tell them what they can't do, when it was wrong on so many levels.
It's beautiful to meet these people and speak to them, just listen to them tell you their journey in life what mistakes they think they've made causing them to be in this situation. We truly are only one step away one paycheck away from being forced out of our homes on the street.
They are human!! They smile, cry, rejoice just like you and I.
I always walk away feeling blessed and spiritually fulfilled after speaking to them. They always have a beautiful story to tell me.

The mayor of Fort Lauderdale said "I'm not satisfied with having a cycle of homeless in the city of Fort Lauderdale. Providing them with a meal and keeping them in that cycle on the street is not productive."
Ridiculous!
So you are homeless - you get a job (probably not a high paying one) - now you are faced with having the right clothes to wear and staying clean long enough to save a thousand dollars (probably more) to get a place to live. If you are an SO it has to be a compliant place (not easy to find) -
My mom and I were talking about this article and she said during the depression there were many homeless people also - many were families - she said most of them traveled around and whenever others saw them almost without exception they would be welcomed into homes - given a good meal - a place to clean up and clothes if they had them to spare. I think the difference was that everyone was poor - people who lived in the country and had farms etc. fared better than others.
