And it's unfair. I'm better now. My meds are working and I have a boyfriend. HE is my emotional support now. I deserve another chance to simply be a good friend offering my support. I miss my friend so much.
Getting run down - that is part of a normal life WITHOUT these kind of issues. I agree with IvyDog, I dislike people bringing up my situation from 11 years ago, but it happens and all I can do is roll with it.
In my case, I also go to AA meetings, which keep me in contact with people that I can understand and connect. Besides church and a different support group that meets once a month, my life is kind of busy, but it is worth living. Unlike 11 years ago when I would have rather been dead (that's the way I felt back then - not suicidal, just not wanting to live). Going through this is hell enough.
I'll close this with a little Latin, which is the opening verse of Psalm 115: Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomine tuo da gloriam. (which translates, "Not unto us O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name be the glory".
Just missing my friend every day.
Wait for him to reach out to you. Pray for him and her and their respective famiies as they continue to navigate through these troubled waters. "Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Let him reach out to you when he's ready. And be there when he comes looking for you, but be a whole person yourself, not dependent on him for your worth and your growth as a unique person.
not everyone is meant to be a part of our lives forever. sometimes they are only there as an aid or a stepping stone to a better place. some are meant to teach us lessons to become a better person. to open our hearts to others and to love.
It would just hurt so much less if my friend hadn't promised to always be my best friend.. He was the first person to ever make me such a promise.
