I like the way these little 'white lies' are exaggerated. Is it a wonder why people think cp watchers are so bad?
Just another bull shit article . Such animals these sexual deviants are. My son counted among them.
I have compared these two "wars" and The War on Child Pornography mirrors The War on Drugs on so many levels.
In both instances, false and misleading information was force fed to the citizens of this country through the media.
They claimed that the use of Marijuana would lead to the use of harder drugs and that Marijuana was the gateway to drug addiction. Not necessarily true at all. It is true that many hard core drug users started with Marijuana, but Marijuana was not the cause of their escalating addiction. Their addiction was caused by a psychological need to use the drug and taking the drug replaced a void in their lives. Any pharmacological properties of Marijuana had nothing to do with it.
I know of no valid study that verifies that Marijuana use causes a person to seek harder drugs such as cocaine or heroin.
In the case of child pornography, the public is force fed the illusion that people looking at child pornography are all future child molesters and the viewing of such material speeds up that process. No reputable studies have verified any such notion.
In the case of drugs, the government scared the hell out of people to such a degree that they applauded when the DEA was formed to fight "the scourge of drugs" in this country. As a result, the SWAT team concept was introduced and it put this country on the path to a Police State. People cheered these quasi Storm Troopers who went into a house and tore it apart looking for a few Marijuana plants because there were so fearful.
In the case of child porn, we have involved the FBI, the ICE, Homeland Security as well as organizations such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Again, we have developed into a Police State because law enforcement has been given such a prominent role in society.
In both instances, there was never an incentive to stop---or even slow down---these "wars" because too many people were making too much money. In the case of drugs, local police departments and other law enforcement agencies, were awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal grants to fight the problem of drugs in this country.
In the case of The War on Child Pornography, local yokels and other law enforcement agencies are awarded huge federal grants and fight cyber crime to keep the "perverts, pedophiles, and predators," from violating our most precious commodity, the children. The three Ps are the false trinity that victims rights groups like to refer to when the want attention to get more laws passed.
And in both "wars" the end result is that so many of our young men are/were sent to prison for long periods of time for a crime that, in the scheme of things, is not exactly the Crime of the Century. Our prisons became full in The War on Drugs and trust me, they are filling up at an alarming rate at the federal prisons because of The War on Child Pornography. Millions of dollars are being thrown down the deep dark rabbit hole of corrections, money that is just wasted.
Now before some nitwit reads this and thinks I am against any punishment for drug or sex offenses, I want to make it clear I am not. But we have to use some common sense and let the punishment fit the crime.
Yeah, we have entered into another war that cannot be won.

You are exactly correct about this being a BS article. I get so damn tired of hearing so many people put forth lies concerning child pornography in an attempt to scare the public.
This country has become a bunch of idiots, dolts who have no common sense and cannot think for themselves. Sorry, but there is no other way to put it.
"Special Agent" Mr. Hayes in the article says, " Many believe that pornography is harmless entertainment. That simply isn’t true. Pornography drives the demand for trafficking."
Drives the demand for trafficking? How does taking a picture of your girlfriend coming out of the shower with a towel around her waist but her breasts showing "drive" the demand for trafficking? That is just a stupid statement made by someone in law enforcement who wantsthe gravy train of dollars to continue to roll in.
Child pornography is not sold---it is traded. There is no supply and demand. If we would believe people like Mr. Hayes that the demand drives a supply then we would have to believe that IF theoretically we could wipe all the child porn off the fact of the earth, then child sexual assaults would cease. After all, if there was no demand there would be no supply and vice versa. Does anybody really believe that once they examine the situation?
People need to learn to think for themselves instead of waiting for TV or some person with an agenda to do their thinking for them.
Child pornography is manufactured by monsters who like to rape, molest, and sexually assault children. If there was no demand, I can assure you that these monsters would CONTINUE to rape, molest, or sexually abuse these kids. They don't do this to supply a demand----they do it because they are perverts who enjoy hurting kids for their own sexual gratification.
I don't look at child pornography nor do I approve of it, but the facts are the facts. The people of this once great country need to start looking at the facts instead of allowing every issue be driven by emotion.
The producers of big time distributors of child pornography should be locked away forever, but for someone who just looks at a few pictures, we have to make the punishment fit the crime.
The article mentions, " You can never satisfy the flesh." You can also never satisfy law enforcement when it comes to the amount of federal grants they receive each year either.
And of course they had to mention a link to adult pornography and rape, which is another falsehood.
And to appeal to the religious zealots out there, they had to add a few scriptures and bring the Almighty into this.
Sorry, but I am sick of people telling lies in an effort to further their agenda.

You always have a way of laying it out much better than I ever can. and I appreciate that.

It's hateful people who twist scriptures was one reason why many are turned off from Christianity. We can't be held to a law if we don't abide by it's ruler - for example, we are not held to laws of Islam if we don't follow it. We aren't held to laws of Judism if we aren't Jewish, so why do many Christians think everyone should be held to Christian laws if they aren't Christians?
I don't have to like people's choices, but I can show them forgiveness and show them love and grace. What is more powerful, being told you're a sinner and going to hell, or saying I know you made some poor choices, but I forgive you and want to help you avoid falling into the same pitfalls?
Sorry, I'm on a rant. I'm tired of the BS by so called Chrisitians, when they don't act like it, and only spew hate.
When they don't have the facts on their side, religion always gets brought into the mix.

I am critical of some of the religious leaders in this country who attempt to politicize religion and cram their views down everyone's throat. Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson come to mind.
We always get into trouble when we incorporate religion into our government, as that causes us to zoom in on moral issues rather than the complex issues that trouble our country.
The countries in the Middle East have incorporated their religion into their government and you can see what a problem that has caused---thousands and thousands of years with perpetual fighting with no end in sight.

Hubby attends bible studies, and they are infighting on which doctrin is the right one, and everyone else is wrong and going to hell. I don't care if your Catholic, Luthren, Penticostal, Baptist, etc, if the foundations are correct, the other stuff is based on interpretation. You go to services on Saturdays - ok, go on Sundays-ok, go on Thursdays -ok....the list goes on. I swear, they need to read Acts, when the churches were doing the same then.
I think I need a break today.... I'm sounding very angry and bitter right now and may say things that offend others (and don't intend to). I'll be back later when I'm not so angry...
Now to the religious people. I am not religious but accept everyone's faith. What I don't accept is those so called religious people telling anyone that they are going to hell and judge them. IF there was a god (I am just not sure there is), shouldn't HE/ SHE be the one making that decision? Who gives the rest of the people the right to judge when it is only God's job? Do they have a letter that they can act and judge on his/her behalf? Please don't get me started.
I do not support watching CP or any P. But if people who watch it was soo evil because they encourage human trafficking, does that make the people who buy guns support murder? Does that mean people who watch cop shows support the crime? It is like saying that people who watch "Dexter" are all have potential to become serial killers.
It only pumps the fuel of fear. No solution for it at all. What about telling the truth about addict to prone? Why not show the research that stated prone addiction is operating as same mechanics as drug addiction? How about helping these guys who wants to quite before they got caught? Why not mention that people in need for help can go to SA meetings?
It is all about pointing fingers but no actual solutions. That is why this society is so sick and going down hill!
For once I actually have to disagree with you on something and that is your comment about supply and demand. Supply and demand is in play when it comes to CP and it's our government's enlightened policy of "targeting the demand" that's perversely fueling the demand for new images which of course creates new victims.
The producers, major distributors and even many, if not most, of the collectors know law enforcement can track CP and the details on just how it's done are readily available to anyone with access to Google. One key component of the process is that the CP must be known and catalogued before it can be tracked. Again, the producers, major distributors and many collectors know this fact and know that new, unknown images cannot be tracked. Because of this and the policy of targeting the demand instead of the production with draconian minimum sentencing, our government is single handedly causing the creation of untold numbers of victims. When the demand is so great, someone will fill the supply chain.
