I am from Oklahoma.
Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing is locked down at the present time, as are all the other medium yards in the state. Every medium security prison went on lockdown after the gang related mini-riot they had at Cimarron a few weeks ago.
As a result, all visits and activity within the prison is suspended during the lockdown.
They were locked down as of a few days ago, so I assume they still are.

They will probably be locked down for a while longer until they complete their investigation regarding the skirmish they had.
This is why you have not received any phone calls from him, but usually, if the lockdown is for an extended period of time, they will allow the mail to run. I am sure he is OK. They have released the names of the inmates who were killed.
The reason it takes so long is that they have to do an investigation THEN they have to go through the procedure to ship the troublemakers to a different prison. This takes time.
If you are really worried, you can call the prison and talk to your son's case manager. He or she can verify the safety of your son.
Hope this takes a load off your mind.
rewdiazepam.
What I have experienced, is that whenever hubby is transferred, they are on lockdown until they go to Committee. Once they have gone to committee, then they are able to go out to dayroom, yard, make calls and receive visits. It can be as soon as a few days and can take as long as a month.
Others here can chime in, especially Rew, who is in OK.
One of the worst parts of this nightmare for me is when I'm expecting communication from my sons and there is nothing. It makes me ache in the pit of my stomach. Thankfully, they have been fine, every single time I have worried myself sick about them and they finally did call or write. I guess I should learn to stop the worrying, but that is not at all easy to do. I think we moms are just wired that way.
The people on this forum have reached out to me so many times and lifted me up so I wouldn't stumble through the rough spots of this horrible journey. Keep coming back to us and we'll be here for you.
