They told him all his buddies " gave him up", so he may as well confess. He was so freaked out, but didn't think his friends would do that. BUT they hounded him over and over again with the same questions for over 6 hours.
I had it happen to me, too. A cop called me, just kept hounding me to admit to something. I said I was saying nothing. She said if I didn't, she would have the local sheriff come arrest me, put me in jail til that county could come get me to put me in theirs. I asked if I did confess to something willingly, would I still be arrested. She said Oh so you are admitting this. I said NO I am not. Now I am calling my attorney and this conversation ended. I didn't get anything in the mail for quite a few weeks. Then I was notified of charges against me. BUT as the justice system works, it's all about who you know, what attorney you get, what you can afford to pay.
I accidentally hired an attorney from that area who had been the DA there for many years. He thought the charges were ridiculous. He knew the assigned judge was a " hanging judge", so he got the case postponed, got his buddy, a judge from another county to hear the case, picked the DA, made a deal and I got off with a simple misdemeanor. Even his hand picked DA couldn't just let the whole thing drop, even when the Judge said it was a ridiculous case of mishandling of the justice system, that it was frivolous and stupid.
Then the judge asked what their evidence was. He saw it, and said this is the most stupid thing yet I have seen. He asked if I had anything to say. I said Thank you, and no offense your honor, but I hope I never see you again, except at Walmart or another nicer situation, but I appreciate you taking the time to be here, and make sure the system didn't win over something so petty. The court stenographer laughed, and he said yes, I agree. If I ever meet you again, I hope it isn't in a courtroom, and I doubt it would be.
That article you put on here Rew is awesome and so true.
Have you seen any of the watchdog groups created by people to monitor police activity? Some were formed by teenagers. Awareness is spreading.
