my BF recently took a plea in order not to gamble with 2 instead of 40 years of his life. I was so upset because I know he didn't do what he was accused of.To make things worse he is ex law enforcement so he has to stay in what they call confined area. He is 3 states away so I can't visit and he pleads with me to find the truth and get his name cleared. I feel so guilty because I know if I set foot in that small town they will know immediately I am there and I won't be able to find out anything.
I'm just lost and not sure what I am supposed to do or even how to write him. I don't want him to feel bad that i am living normally as possible and i dont want to let him know i cry at the drop of a hat. How can i be encouraging without feeling guilty for being here while he is there and not make him feel bad that i am ready to step off the ledge

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Encouraging someone while I feel ready to step off a ledge gets my vote as the hardest thing Life keeps asking of me. I keep running away from that unreasonable demand and it keeps finding me, no matter how far I run or how deep I hide.
My current effort is, "Divide and Conquer." I carry the parts about stepping off ledges, etc., into my therapy support network to be vented and sorted freely until I can find the sincere encouragement I so want to give.
DS is part of my therapy support network. It has quite allot of forums for that complex sorting/venting. I hope you'll take the time to surf around and see which groups might work for you.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Mine is a state away so I can't visit either and that's why letters are so very very important. You can either wait to the first letter or if you already know where he is write him. It doesn't have to be a whole lot just let him know how you're feeling, yes even the bad stuff as I don't think/feel you should lie about feelings, imho.
Just let him know you're there for him no matter yet and the 2 years will be over and done with before you know it! Yes it won't be easy at times, but it's doable!
I sent you a private message, but I wanted to add to it.
You HAVE to take care of yourself by eating well, getting enough rest, and treating your depression and anxiety. I know this is stressful and will be one of the most emotional periods of your life. The human body and mind was is not equipped to handle so many stressors coming from all directions on a 24/7 basis. At some point, if you feel as if this is beginning to consume you, you need to get to your family doctor and have him prescribe you some antidepressants and/or anti-anxiety meds to help get you through this.
Most of the mothers/wives/GFs I help are taking some types of meds to cope with all the stress and emotion. If you have a mental meltdown or find yourself in a deep depressive episode, you will be no good to your guy in prison. He needs you and he needs you to be healthy.
Many of the more popular antidepressants or anti-anxiety agents can be purchased on Wal Mart’s four dollar plan. You can buy a 30 day supply for four bucks or a 90 day supply for then bucks, so cost should not be a problem. If funds are a problem, perhaps you can mention this to your physician and he will prescribe something that is on the four dollar plan.
Get on some meds if needed and do not be afraid to reach out to your family physician if needed. It would also be beneficial if you would see a therapist a few times to bring your depression and issues to the forefront so you can cope with them.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers daily.
