That is a really good article Rew, and the kind of thing I feel the general population needs to know. So many people are or will be impacted by incarceration, that I feel it would be good for everyone to read.

All of it is so true and a great article. But telling people that don't know anyone in prison, you won't get any sympathy. That's the sad truth. No one wants to hear about these things. All they want to do is criticize. After all, they think it doesn't affect them. But doesn't it? People that end up broke have to go to the county and state agencies for help. That takes tax dollars. They don't realize in the blink of an eye, THEY could be one of us. Did any of us ever imagine we would be in this position? We don't have a choice, if we love the person in prison. It's like saying Oh they have cancer, they are now a burden, so bye bye, we sure can just forget you even existed because it is too much to deal with.

People sure don't do that. But they want us to just walk away. Luckily for most of these incarcerated people there is someone out there that will stand by them, support them, love them and wait for them.

What would happen to all of them if we all turned out backs on them?

Putting it on facebok is a great idea. You never know who will read it, and I am all for educating the public. That is the key to change. If the present trend of throwing everyone and their brother in prison continues, it will eventually get to the right eyes.

True, there is usually no sympathy from those unaffected, but given time that may change if we saturate the general public with articles such as that one. We are the ones who could make the difference.
