Has it ever been discussed before. Is it even possible on this site? Does anyone have the know- how to do it? What would be the cost involved? How could it be paid? It would really be beneficial in the sense that people wouldn't have to wait for a response when in crisis, or just going through an especially difficult moment, there would always be someone to talk to or with on this site, who could at least lend a sympathetic ear, and would understand the individual's struggle, even if they couldn't fix the problem or situation.

This site does offer one to one chat. The member would have to turn on their chat section through their profile. I think what would benefit this group is a member online chat forum. Where people could come and chat openly if they choose to hear what everyone would have to offer to them towards their situation. I know thou when there are chat rooms a lot of time they are abused by people trying to find a relationship connection other than what the room was originally set up for. I have found that to be the problem in another forum I belong to. They require so many post before you are aloud into the chatting area because of the misuse people were using it for. I think it could be posible if some members wanted to share and exchange numbers in private you could have a friendship circle. Where if someone was in need they could contact that person and speak to them personally instead of posting for help. A voice sometime could be so soothing than waiting for a response. There would be no cost but the indvidual phone cost. If people have cell phones you usually can get minutes free on evenings and weekends. Something to think about and something I would gladly be involved in.

there is an optin if someone is online that you can click to chat but you ahve to go toeach persons profile to see if they are on online. But that is a very good idea to have a supported, actual chat room. YOu should mention this to Doug and see if he can do anything.

I have noticed here and in the other forums that members are really wanting this as an option. I think if we all contact doug & staff and let them know we'd like to have this feature he'll do all he can to make it possible. I've not even been here a year, and there have already been so many changes... Improvements..

I think that is a great idea, I also like the idea of a phone circle of friends...I know sometimes I just need someone to listen to me babble. I know that some abuse chat but I dont know what I would do without sometimes

I think its a good idea. Then we can all chat at once, if we were online together.

Perhaps he could make the chat rooms exclusive, or members only or something like that. Then, there would be a little more control over who can actually utilize them, and the lurkers and the romance seekers could be avoided. I think if we all band together and make suggestions to doug he would certainly look into it - especially if there seems to be a lot of interest in it. Something to think about!

I really think a chat room is what we all really need its nice to read comments but somethimes you just need more one on one!

OMG! I would LOVE a chat room. I've never really been in one, but the ability to get immediate feedback would be fab!

I did get a guy I never heard of before hitting on me last week. I am not on here for that. It was weird, I never tried to find a date on here, didn't expect it, and it was strange, the guy's profile, and info if ya looked him up had nothing on it. Kind of creepy. He messaged back and forth, by the 2nd message he was calling me baby. I really am not needing that, this is for what most all of us use it for. Geez, I have problems enough with the guy I have.

nowheregirl - your post made me giggle! I too get these chat messages once in awhile and it kinda creeps me out. My profile clearly says i'm taken for heaven's sake, and i totally agree - i have my hands full with the one i've got, i don't need to add to it!! thanks for the smile!
