No, you are certainly not crazy. If you are crazy, then I am also,
I went to prison for almost a decade for a crime I did not commit. Shortly after my release I began having some weird---and at times, scary dreams-----about my experience even though I had an easy time in prison.
The dreams were not terrifying or nightmares, but they left me very confused when I woke up. I know when I woke up and realized I was in my own bed at home, I was greatly relieved.
The dreams seemed to have the same theme. I was in a foreign place with guys wearing the same clothes---it had to be a prison--- and I knew I should not be there. I kept trying to talk to the head person at this place to explain I should not be there, but he would not listen. I would go around opening cell doors trying to find a way out of there so I could go home, but all the doors were either to cells or broom closets.
The dream always ends when I have tried opening the last door to find a way out of there only to find out it was another broom closet.
I rarely have them anymore, but I had them at least twice a week for years. They were not terrifying but were uncomfortable.
I have a psychologist friend who told me I was suffering from a form of PTSD that is not apparent while awake, but surfaces when a person is asleep in his subconscious mind.
I was sort of irritated at myself as I pride myself on being a strong person and I did not have any problems in prison, so I could not understand why I was having these dreams. My friend said when the mind rests at sleep sometimes these thoughts come out and I have no control at that time.
No, you are not crazy; you are human.
rewdiazepam
I was feeling as though I was the only one.
As my sister doesn't have these dreams glad to hear that they do eventually go away.
I think cause dad being away isn't that old yet less than a year.. :( but still very hard and emotional
Hang in there.
I went to my Dr today as my anxiety is pretty bad.. with them and just been prescribed some sleeping tablets to try and get me some sleep and some some sanity really.
Did either of you have issues with friends telling other people your issues and dreams and or problems to their partners whom you don't know (as is a recent thing). As iv told her my dreams as i was so scared about them .
