I would be shocked beyond belief if he forgot about you.

Inmates just do not think like that. You are his lifeline to the outside. You are the one that keeps him going in there. You have supported him and I imagine he realizes that he needs you more than ever. He's not going to give you up.

Inmates may not be honest or wise, but they are not stupid, either. They know when they have a good thing.

With only 18 months, trust me, you have very little to worry about. You have him all to yourself right now. The last time I was in prison there were no girls or wild women running around in there to take up with, so I am sure he thinks about you---and only you---quite often.

Your relationship will be fine. You are allowing your overactive mind and imagination to play tricks with your heart.

Write, write, and write some more.

He will be there for you when he gets out.

Thank you. I know sometimes my head gets the best of me!! I woke up feeling this way but I know it's far from the truth! I am his lifeline and I know He loves and appreciates everything I'm doing for him. The time lapse between letters and the no contact is driving me crazy lol. I'm here till the end and I can't wait for him to get home. I will be here with open arms when he gets out and I'm sure he will too :)

The problem with some people in these situations---both the inmate and the loved one waiting on the outside---is they have a tendency to overthink or overanalyze situations.

Sometimes things are as simple as "they are what they are."

Many an inmate would have been overjoyed to have a lady like yourself waiting for him on the outside.

No, he is not about to give you up.

Rew. You always hit the nail right on the head. The mind is a scary thing sometimes, and it constantly tries to play tricks on us. The key is to trust your own judgment and not let these thoughts get the best of you. Love does not end when someone is gone, may it be incarcerated, on a business trip, or on a deployment. When I was younger, I dated a guy in the military, and I was heartbroken all the days he did not call, thinking the worst, like he forgot about me. When he finally called, I was totally fine.but only for a day or so, and the worrying started again, until the next call. It was a repetitive pattern. Now, I am in my 40s and I am soooo past that stage. You know if someone loves you! There are no more games. I have moved passed that stage, and you will, too.

I can understand how with this being new with you two that you have insecurities. I have been with mine 11 years and still have insecurities so you aren't being dumb by feeling that way. Trust me, they have insecurities too. The main insecurity they have is that you will leave them. And in my case, I did at one point in time (only because he was acting a donkey). All you can do is reassure each other. Like Rew said writing is the best thing when they are incarcerated. I write mine 3 to 5 days a week. Be sure not to be too argumentative in letters though because that can shift things from good to ugly fast. I have been so guilty of this even recently. Visits will help too. I don't know why I let my mind go a little crazy sometimes. I know he loves me and I love him too we are both in our 40's and your right mtbfan I have finally found a MAN who doesn't play games. I need to be secure in that. I know for me it's the No contact that gets to me the most and that is MY insecurity. I let my mind tell me he doesn't care or doesn't love me because he hasn't written yet. I need to be VERY patient with the prison system there are many reasons he may not be writing I have NO idea what he goes through in there, I am never mean or argumentative, I try to stay very positive and uplifting (regardless of how I'm feeling) and I just remind him how much I love him and I stand by him. I write or send a card almost everyday. I know he probably thinks I will run while he's gone but I'm not going anywhere :) I'm so thankful for this sight and all you awesome people who know exactly what I'm going through. Visits will help and even a phone call it's only a couple months away and I will be able to see him and hear his voice I can't wait!!! Thank you all so much :)
