This community is dedicated to families that have been disrupted by prison. Having a loved one incarcerated or having been incarcerated comes with its own unique challenges that require support and understanding. Extensions can either be a 30, 60, or 90 day extension. I have never seen one longer than 90 days. If they need more time, they might file for another extension after this one expires. Of course, the court will only allow so many extensions.

I had a conviction and it took three years for the appeal to be heard. Of course, that was years ago and things have gotten much better. I think the appeal process on the state level is down to about a year.
Your husband's case will go before a appeals court which consists of several justices, usually anywhere form five to nine.
He is apparently appealing on the state level in an appellate court since the Attorney General is involved.
If he is successful on appeal, they usually remand the case back to the original county from where it originated and he gets a new trial or he can at that point plead.
