Maybe I should know this, but I don't. Do I still need to carry health insurance for my daughter who will be going to federal prison in another state??
Even if you kept her on your policy, she would never be able to use it, as all her medical needs will be taken care of right there in prison by prison doctors.
I will advise you that while the BOP or the DOC does take responsibility for an inmate's health in theory, many times they are woefully lacking in the degree of medical care.
She will not receive care in prison even remotely what she received here on the outside.
