So an old friend was involved in what he thought was protecing himself and got 20 years in prison. We haven't talked in many years. No reason. Just grew apart and moved and moved on with our lives. We now talk weekly. I send him emails a couple times a week or more. A lot of time I just talk about I am doing for hobbies and what happened in life. Just telling him stories really. Sometimes I don't know what to say or don't want to say anything too deep so that I won't sadden him. I have also became friends with his wife and we talk almost every day. It is really hard some times to say what he needs to hear. Maybe someone can elighten me. I seem to be able to cheer her up if they have a bad phone call. Sometimes he is just not happy, Gee I wonder why. He sort of has a target on his back which makes things worse.
Any advise would help.
Thank you

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
The biggest thing is to keep on responding. Outside contact helps, tremendously.
Even your effort to write to him and talk to his wife means a lot, I am sure. It is very kind of you,
