Facility still on lockdown..how long?

I called again today. They are still on lockdown. I asked why. She couldn't tell me. She said it affects all of them. I started to ask if my guy was ok. She said that everyone is fine. At least I know that.. I am worried sick. I did get a letter from him from last sunday. I hope he writes me again soon. I really need to hear his voice. He said he's with a good group that stick up for each other. Most of the guys he's with there don't bug you and just want to get through the days they are there for. He's not in prison yet.. He's still awaiting... I just miss him so much. 20 more days till we go to court. I can't visit,, even if I could, now that they are on lockdown I couldn't.. I'm counting the days till I can see him again. I hope he was given commissary before this lockdown. I heard also that that is removed as a privilidge.. I'm scared for him. I just want him to be ok and come home to me...

In some facilities, if the lockdown is for an extended period of time---say more than a week or so----the facility will take SMALL orders for canteen purchases.

A staff member will go to each cell and the inmates can purchase the essentials. At one place I was at they did this, but at another they did not.

The staff does want to allow the inmates to buy things such as coffee, as they do not want more inmate unrest within the cells.

Just keep writing. He will answer.

I believe lockdowns are for many reasons. Even if they are doing renovations. Don't worry so much. They don't hate it as much as we do. My guy adapted to so much in there. They sleep alot more when they are confined to their cells. Mine just didn't care. He read, he worked on his crafts, and he slept. He hated that I was going nuts not hearing from him, he missed me, but he took it in stride, and didn't let it upset him.

These lockdowns will happen. Lots of upsetting things in our minds will happen, but they usually are not dangerous to the guys, and the guys are taking it much better than their women do.

I really wouldn't keep calling there. They are going to get tired of your calls so when there is something urgent you may need to call for, they won't take you seriously. These guards don't have any compassion or understanding. And multiply your worry and calls times maybe 1,000 wives, gf's etc of inmates. They don't have time to care about all of them.

Thank you both... As usual.. I'm doing a little better tonight. I've been writing him a lot and hopefully he can get his mail still. I'm not calling anymore... I just was hoping the lady would give me some info on how long it would be or what it was caused by but she wouldn't.. all she said was they were all fine and she couldn't tell me why... so, I wait I guess.. Its a good thing my guy likes sitting for hours and reading and writing. I just hope he has enough commisary to write me back with.. .I know I probably made a fool of myself in my letters asking him to call when I didn't know he was unable to... anyway, Thanks for the advice. Its much appreciated and calms my nerves a little bit...

My hub's place is on lockdown more often than not. He was on lockdown for a month when he first arrived. He was on lockdown for 10 days, got off lockdown earlier this week, then back on lockdown last night....so frustrating.
