As long as he stays out of trouble the two other court cases should go well.
It is up to him to make work release work for him. Meaning he will have stricked guidelines he must follow. And if he fails to do so then. He will have to do his time in jail.
Is he in a half way house?
They have a thousand rules there and they have little tolerance for even the slightest infraction.
Tell your guy to keep a low profile, follow ALL the rules, and be a good guy there. He will be fine if he does that.

On the down side....don't get me wrong I am extremely grateful for this...but I'm not sure it's going to be easier..in fact it may be harder. When they are in jail or prison there is no expectation of time together...so there is no disappointment because there is no possibility other than short visits. Life develops a routine that helps numb the absence...this way...I have to let him go again every single day. I'm sure we will develop a routine this way too..it's only the first day. But in some ways..many ways...it keeps the hurt fresh. It's going to be a very long 9 months.
And I'm sure it's a lot better for him than being stuck in a prison. The time will go by more quickly for him if he is productive.
