ankle bracelet

My hub has been wearing an ankle bracelet since July. His court day is in Dec. The public defender wants to just plea bragin his case so we are getting a actual attonery. He said that the my hub should not have been wear the ankle bracelet cause he hasnt been convicted! Wow! This is so strange...i just dont understand the whole justice/court system??? Does this make sense to anyone?

Justice system never makes sense!! THat is quite odd, I think, for him to have an ankle bracelet when he's still waiting for his day in court. Was this a probation violation?

No....they put him on house arrest! Checks in twice a month...we even pay for this bracelet!

Waiting for a court date my son was out of jail with an ankle bracelet, at the cost of $300 every two weeks. He's not a threat so zero bail money was paid. I asked about him not being a threat but yet having to have a bracelet and was told that it's standard practice. A month before sentencing they put him back in jail.

Like many others, this is all new to me so I'm learning as we work through the process.

It's another way for them to get money it sucks.
Down hear if you are on house arrest you get the bracelet as well and there pretty on to it if you do something wrong or if your late.
There is a upside his home with you sooooo wish my man had that option.

My son was on house arrest and the ankle bracelet for 6 weeks before his court date.

We didn't pay anything in MN.

My fiance is now out of prison after over 3 years, and is on that damn ankle bracelet for 90 days. I hate the damn monitor. If I use the phone it's connected to, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it makes ugly shrieking noises or blares siren noises. It just did. We don't pay for it either.

Yes, it is a way to control them, but it's better than them sitting in prison or jail. I absolutely hate it. BUT on the other hand, after being locked up over 3 years, his tendency may have been to go out and do everything he'd been deprived of for so long. While on it, he still can work, and be out several hours a day. It isn't set to make him be in the house until 11 pm. It was less time off of it, but then with his crazy work schedule and overtime, it got too much work for the PO to keep changing the times. So now he is off it 5:30 a.m til 11 pm. He has proved to her he isn't doing anything wrong, basically just working alot and working on our house. It all depends on the PO.
