I wished I could email but that is not an option at the facility he is at :(
I always boxed mine up and sent them to the lady that was writing me.
By the time I was released, we celebrated by having a bonfire and burning them all. She did not want to keep them as she was afraid they might fall in the wrong hands someday.
She did not ever want anyone reading them because at the time I was incarcerated, I was so angry with the system that my letters were just filled with rage and anger. She did not want anyone reading all that.

Tell your guy when he receives a letter to tear the return (your) address off the corner of the envelope and flush it. Nosey and jealous inmates sometimes will try to find out who is writing you and begin writing you themselves.
Trust me, you do not want your address getting out in the prison population.
