I know a couple formers guards and they have said half the stuff you see on tv,movies are not reality in prison tho there are rapes ect... but the one thing you want to do is if you see something you didn't see it keep your mouth shut because you will be label as a rat and prisoners do not like rats the only people that I've heard get rape are sex offenders,rapist but again i don't know how true that is tho.

I don't watch half stuff that has prisons except one thing but other than that I avoid it like the plague

My guy said not much of that goes on where he was or is now. A few men have got caught doing the nasty together, but it was their choice.

I am sure that there are those incidents, in some tougher prisons. Mine was in medium, and now is in minimum.

I know there are exceptions, but from what I understand that kind of stuff mostly happens to people who are "asking for it". My fianc told me it's nothing like what you'd think.. There are certain hints that people give off I guess. The "punks" are punks because they choose to be. My fianc is young and is very handsome.. There are a few guys that joke around and call him pretty boy, but he's made it very clear that he's not a "punk", so they don't even try anything. The whole rape thing was a huge fear of mine when he first went to prison, just because I just didn't know what to expect, but he is fine. He's in medium security.. I don't know if it's different in maximum or not.

It's not as bad as what you think and don't believe what you see on t.v coz most of that is crap. I've only know of one guy at D prison to get raped but going by what the guys in there said he was askeing for it. Yes it was a worry of mine as well.

I was in a medium/max for 8 years. There are very few rapes in prison; it is not like you see in TV or the movies.

Ninety nine percent of the sexual encounters in prison are consensual. There are cases where young guys get in debt and the person they owe will coerce them into sexual favors to pay off the debt, but the chances of him getting forcibly raped in prison are very minimal.

Never say a true rape in the eight years I was in prison. Saw lost of guys messing around, and a lot of punks with their sugar daddies, but forcible rapes----just rarely, rarely happen even in a medium security environmane.

Best way to keep from getting hurt in prison is to not snitch and not get into debt.

Dont worry! My man has been gone five years and has never witnessed this... and he was on maximum security for two of the years. The only people that are targeted for this are those who want a consensual sexual relationship or those who are in prison for rape.

I dont think you have anything to worry about. This situation is hard enough without the fear of rapes/beatings.
