SO, my son has friended me, a year ago, on FB...so i get to see his posts. At one time he did 'limit' what I saw, but opened it back up again.
So after telling me how he is only smoking pot and having a couple drinks here and there (now come on, who the HELL is he fooling here and really? trying to lie to ME?) I see a post of 'mushyyys how I've missed you'....
Okay we can ALL go to the Urban Dictionary and right off the bat I knew he was referring to 'mushrooms'....see his addiction is not just of the big H, but of mushrooms as well and he says they are not 'addictive'...oh, okay....keep telling yourself that.
He has some STRONG political views on why we in the USA should legalize drugs and this would end the drug wars on the streets, like other countries do...THAT was his latest 'rant' and in that rant he admitted that he tried to kill himself to end his addiction.
SO, I guess the big read between the lines is he ADMITTED in his post that he is an addict....that is a big step....
His 'dream' is to get into politics and fight for legalization of using Hemp Farms....which i get the whole thing 1 acre of hemp is equal to 4 acres of trees for paper etc....I get it...and he would make a wonderful debater....
But I check his FB page often during the day, he has his phone for web and his netbook.....
Is this a bad thing or good thing? i NEVER reply to his posts, I don't even send a private message, I just silently sit back and stalk him LOL....

I love FB but don't like that kids can't seem to contain themselves or KNOW where to draw the line, I'm not posting about HIM! AAHHHH
In some ways he might be right, if they were to legalize drugs it could be controlled at least the person could go to a clinic and get the drugs they needed. This would cut out a huge amount of the crime that is associated with drugs. There is always going to be people who want to get high, to escape from the world. This has been going on for centuries and prohibition didn't work and I don't think this war on drugs is working. Besides there are more pain pill addicts then cocaine and heroin addicts in the US. Heard this from an addiction specialist on the news.
If you want to remain sane quit checking his Facebook and checking up on him. His actions are out of your control right now. If my adult kids post stuff I don't like I say something. If you keep stalking his Facebook he will just switch to some other social site. Better to read it for yourself then have him hiding it. If it bothers you too much you can click to the right and block all his post. I had to do that with my niece. She is also heading down the wrong road, unfortunately she has a mother who thinks that smoking pot, spice is just a part of growing up and a father who puts his money first and doesn't share it no matter what. We agree to disagree.
you have said in the past,, your son is an adult,,, well really stalking him,,, is not making it an adult situation....

He is a HUGE proponent on legalizing drugs in a controlled enviroment and he has even shown interest in getting into politics because of it....this young man is not stupid by any means....sometimes he blows me away with his thoughts and how spot on he can be and his debate skills are amazing....then you flip the coin and the drugs just mess him up! And I have to say after some research I have to agree on the point as well, as it would only help our crime rate etc.....I would vote for it for sure.
But then you see the post of 'i'm tripping my b*lls off' and THAT is where 'dumb ass' comes in....
Yeah, it only stresses me out to look at his posts, but on the flip of that, sometimes it eases my mind to know he is alive somewhere and able to post, means his phone is on or he is somewhere where wi-fi is...LOL....
