It has been awhile since i've been here. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I'm back for some advice/support/an ear to talk to I suppose.
My sister is a recovering addict. Sounds great right? To me it is incredible. I'm proud of her, nervous as hell, but very proud to live in this moment. I even saw her twice over the holidays. Usually this is the time she disappears of the face of the earth. I'm trying to convince my chest pain to leave and that it's okay this time!
After her 7 months of sobriety I was invited over for a visit, so I trekked down to see her and she told me she had great news. I knew exactly what the news was, and in my head it wasn't going to be great news. Sure enough, she was pregnant with her bf who is was an active user with her back in her prime. I tried to be positive for her and I will continue to be supportive, however I know she is about to face a huge struggle mentally and financially.
in honestly I think her having this baby is a very bad idea. It's not my business nor my life so I stay out of it. I just need to learn to accept this and hope that it works out.

Hi my name is Phil and I am the father of an addict in recovery. Recovering addicts in realationships is always hard on us family members her having a baby makes it more dificult. So what do you do? First as long as she is in recovery you support her and try to be happy for her. Next without her thinking your nagging her try to convince her that her recovery is all the more important, atend meetings find a good sponcer and the hard part if the boyfriend is active try in a nice way to get her to leave him or get him in treatment. The truth of the matter is as you know in the end its her call On the bright side this could be the incentive she needs to turn her life around. Stay strong and never give up hope

Hopefully since she has 7 months sobriety she has learned some behavior techniques so she does not relapse. Your right its not the best situation for her to be in, but its too late to worry about that now. Just be encouraging, and hopefully she will keep on the path she has been on and try to keep an eye on her for the baby sake.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
