So, as my plight continues with our son. He has no where left to go, he has used up his chits at all his friends etc....and it is NOT that he is not trying to get his life together. I have made it a point to extend my time to help him get some stuff done, and I have seen, in the past 3 weeks the changes that are positive. I have seen his documented visits to the VA offices, the job searches, etc. He has openly shown me. We have done his taxes, and he has been open about funds that are coming to him this coming week. AND he has sat me down to tell me WHERE every dollar is going to, which shows me he has thought this all through.
He did NOT ask to come home, he did ask to spend a night here and there, and that was just in the past few days. He is working today at a p/t job he has in town here, so I told him he could come over today, do some laundry, shower and get ready for work, he got a ride here from one of his friends. I sat down and talked to him and my hubby and I agreed to extend him an olive branch to stay here for a limited time and that he and I work on getting his life in order and finding a job, getting his license back and finding a place to live. We have given him 4 weeks. We circled the day on the calendar in the kitchen. We laid down the house rules. No going out all night, no coming home drunk or high, and that he let us know where he is at all times. He was VERY agreeable to all terms. That everything is to be kept NEAT and CLEAN as he sees it right now. He started crying and hugged both of us. He didn't want to ask but told us how he was at his ropes end of not having anywhere to go, he didn't want to go to his birth fathers (he just met up with him in the past couple months after not seeing him since he was 2-3 years old, finding out at 19 that he used his SSN fraudently) He said he and his 'nana' are not nice people, that he was just trying to find out on his own and was desperate and they gave him a place to stay a couple times and bought him some clothes that he needed but he found how much they lie and cheat people and he didn't want any part of that and THAT is why he wouldn't stay with his birth father.
Before he left for work, we sat down with the weekly planner and planned out the week coming up of what he has for interviews and license hearings etc.....
I'm optimistic at this time, but cautious as well.
I told him that if he crossed the line just ONCE he would be out on his ear and that he would never be welcome here again, and that he would have to live his life however he chooses and that would be the end of it all. That we love him but we will NOT give him $$, we will provide a roof for now and food, BUT he has chores, he has responsibilities and that he will not have visitors here and there will be no late nights or disappearing and coming back etc....
I pray we made the correct choice, but this coming week will be a show of what the future will hold.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
It is SO hard to believe...but this week will be the tell tale...wish me luck!
