It's hard to do and today, this morning, I realized I am still haunted by it, still reliving it time to time.
Today, I have affirmed to let it go. I questioned my son a couple times this morning, found that I was 'digging' and saw a look on his face I hadn't seen before, exhaustion. At my questioning, at my comments. And it caught it me off guard, but it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I am letting go of the past, I will not live there anymore, I will move forward, the past is fini, done, over, it can't be changed or re-written, the present is just that, it is fresh and with every step we are creating the future, but we can't create the future by living moments in the past.
I am letting go of the what if's.
Knowing we all fall and stumble, I'm not going to try to be the 'net' anymore.
This applies to everyone and every where.
Today is new, tomorrow unknown but what I will do today, will dictate what happens tomorrow.

My husband went right back to how he reacted YEARS ago....Finally, I called my son and said, you need to talk to your dad.
Yes, he had some problems at work. He and my daughter both had tons of paperwork with their respective jobs, and they both were not organized enough.
They both are fine. They are both living in the grown up world, handling crap that comes to them.
Now that my husband talked to him, he is fine too.
We are at 4 years this April.
Like dmatt said, it is part of OUR recovery.
sometimes it just catches us off guard. If they screw up, we will know about it soon enough.
we can only live on day at a time,, that is why it's called the present,,, embeleish that moment,,, for we have no idea what tomorrow brings,,,,
we will be waiting for k,, and the finish line,,,, with open arms,,, but until then all we can do,, is pray,,,

"I don't need a Mom anymore, I'm grown up now, I need a friend instead".....I smiled at him and said 'sorry dude, that will NEVER happen, I will ALWAYS be your Mom, like it or not, I will ALWAYS care and love you, I can't change that, but nice try!'.....he laughed SO hard at my reply, haven't heard that laugh in a very long time, that huge belly laugh!
