Ever feel those days where EVERYTHING and EVERYONE is a drain on your entirety? I'm having one of those weeks! I've had three days off and yesterday spent the day icing my swollen ankle, I rolled it about a week ago and it was REALLY bad on friday.....and just slept the afternoon away until 8pm.

Between the son, who just lost his job and is recovering from heroin addiction after like 4 years....and my boss being a total butt and the people I work with just on my nerves and having to work with the sons' ex drug addict gf, who had an addict baby and shows signs she is STILL using....I've done had it with everything and everyone!

I'm tired of trying to 'trust' again. I'm tired of the 'worrying' about what the kid is doing. I'm tired of going to work and the boss is in a freaking bad mood and no matter what I say or do, he has something to say, not in a positive light either. I'm just done with it all.

Part of me would like to pack my bags and just go disappear into thin air, the other part of me wants to scream at everyone that is in my 'tension zone', the other part of me wants to sing that wonderful 'take this job and shove it' song to my boss...lol..

He mentioned going back into the service again....oh my heart leaped inside thinking 'would you PLEASE?'....then he told me no he wasn't going to.....for the LOVE OF JOSEPH! Maybe it sounds really selfish but I just want MY LIFE BACK! I had been a single mother for 10 years of his 23, I NEVER got child support from the ex, worked 2 jobs to make it all work. NEVER went on assistance! Did it all MYSELF!

I'm just frustrated with my life, my job, just everything!

I don't think it is wrong to want your life back; you NEED your life back! I can relate to what you are saying (our details are different but results a lot alike.) It's okay to take care of your own needs, because no one else is going to do that for you.

An idea regarding your boss, who is acting like a major jerk: maybe get a really ugly stuffed animal, name it after your boss, and when you get home each day, say to that stuffed animal everything you wanted to say to the boss. I think that might help you to let off the steam in a way that is safe.

if your going to disappear into thin air,,,, make it a place,, where there is white sand,,, clear water,,, throw in a cabanna boy,,, that does not talk!!! I'll be on the next flight,,,

I'm wiith you, I want to disapper most days too. My mental health is falling apart and I can't seem to get a hold of my life again. Anytime you want to disappear let me know my bags are always packed.

i feel for u hun especially ur son being an addict it must be so painful to watch... like u i feel like the responsiblities in my life take over me causing anxiety anger depression, i try my best to think positive and i usually catch myself in time..... dont let other people control you destiny it sounds like u have lost yourself, take time out for u, and also i have found this site amazing i now know i am not alone, i can come here and people are atually caring and kind, hopfully this will help me heal and find happiness i hope u are able to find happiness to

I went away for the weekend once, just so I could soak in a hot bath without a phone ringing, and read a book. I told them I would be home Sunday by 3...and I fell asleep that morning while reading, and woke at about 5....(a 3 hour drive) and it was marvelous.
If I hadn't I would have cracked up.
Do what you need to in order to get well.

I wish there were a recipe for navigating through life without letting outside factors affect how we feel inside. Smarter people have dedicated their life to developing techniques to achieve this. Most of us regular folks just have to weather the bad times and find ways to lift ourselves out the ruts we habitually fall into. How? The Al-Anon/Nar-Anon philosophy has helped me so much to get a little closer to that goal: Accept the things I cannot change. That covers just about everything you mentioned: your son, boss, son's ex, your ex. There's not a damn thing you can do to fundamentally change any of the people in your life. The only thing you have any power over are the things that you are the author of: your actions and reactions to others and to situations, your ways of coping with others and with situations. That's it. You are the captain of that ship, you and no one else. Once you realize and internalize this, serenity does eventually come. It's not easy, but every movement toward that realization is significant. Recovery is a long journey, not just for our addict, but for all of us. Good luck and God bless.

I feel the same way sometimes, but then look at what I have and just keep trucking on. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I'm dreaming of that beach too...venting is good Hoping, that's what we are here for... a day or so away might be a great idea... a room with a private hot tub? go for it!!
