He overdosed on Heroin. It's 3am and I am sitting next to my son in the intensive care unit watching his body wretch from the tubes and drug withdrawal.
He was found on the floor of a laundromat last night, no wallet. Only his cell which was dead. The nurses here in hospital charged it and called His Dad.
His heart never stopped and his cat scan didn't show any brain bleeds or stroke.
However, his respiration was very poor and we won't know if any lasting effects until he is responsive.
My middle son was here. This broke his heart. I haven't let his youngest brother come here yet.
I am going to try to doze off again. They increased the sedation and hopefully he will be asleep again soon. Pray for him and all of us suffering within this addiction.

We have already spoken to the rehab center Villa Veritas where he was previously. He will go back immediately upon discharge.
The MICU unit has been great to us. Letting me sleep here and stay by Jimmys side.
He was clean for 40 days and on the right path (or so I thought). We can't let our guard down for a minute with addiction. The minute you think things are moving, your addict can relapse and it's all back to square one.
I am so glad he gets another chance. I am so sorry for all you are going through.
He is still intubated. He took something heavy duty and we are having a hard time getting him to breathe on his own. They just did an EEG and are doing another CAT scan to check for any brain damage.
Hopefully he can recover. It's a waiting game.

My son's life is forever changed as well as ours. Please help your addicts to get treatment. My son may never be whole again. I am simply beside myself.
