It is even more obvious when you see this behavior done to others --like yourself. When you have no emotional connection to a person you see the reality/sickness more clearly.
Don't allow her to pull you down--you MUST detach from the craziness/sickness! It is not your disease!
How could you do this to me????
I believe the answer is because you were in my path.
Remove yourself from their path...at least emotionally if not physically.
It did not happen to you.
You are not accountable for your sister's choices.
Friends who gossip are not friends.
Many families hide the secrets until it gets on court TV- oh wait, that was my family and yours was facebook.
We have all been humiliated by our addict's choices.
I am sorry that you feel bad. BUT it is an insane addiction and anyone who doesn't understand that is not worth worrying about.
It did not happen to you. you are not going to jail. You did not get arrested. Hold your head up...You are fine.
People and situations can only make us miserable if we let them.
wishes for peace.
When it gets grip they cant help but lie and manipulate. I am so very sorry
Love your sister. Hate the addict. And stay strong enough to recognize the difference between the two.
You did not cause this you can not cure this and you can not control this. It is all on your sister. yes you are horified but so not let your sister ruin your life. You have to come to realize that her life is not your life and I'm sure she really hates her life too. She is sick hate her addiction, go to meetings to learn to live with a sick family member, it soes not mean you are ok with her disease it means you know longer want to be dragged down by it. You are lucky you are not an addict she is not as lucky as you are.
I know its not my fault. I couldn't explain that in the original post because I was livid. My friends don't gossip. My city is 50 000 people. I, surprisingly, only got 12 hate messages from random strangers this go round. Last time she was charged I got 69 messages from people telling me to kill myself and jump off a cliff because my whole family is a waste of skin. It go so bad I copy and pasted a response that I sent out to all of them.
'I know her by blood, she is my sister. I didn't have a choice. How exactly do you know her?"
Most people never messaged back again. Plus the first time people knew where I lived and dropped hate mail in my freaking mail box. I had been raising on of her kids and I'm guessing she pointed my place out. This time no one knows where I live so no mail! :)
I am detatched, as much as I can be. I hadn't talked to or seen my sister in almost two months when that hit the news. Since everyone and their dog already knew she was an addict everyone and their dog also knew she was on the path of recovery. So they all knew when she fell off.
Small town/city means nobody's business is private :(
