After the most nerve wracking week of my entire life I am relieved to report that Justin is on a bus heading to FL to a 90 day treatment Center. It was one of many, many treatment centers that we contacted. So many people reached out to us with so much info and the person who found this place was from our home state of VT who knew my husband but has never met me or Justin. God Bless her a stranger holding out her hand to help another stranger, she gave me an amazing list of Christian based rehabs that were FREE. this week Justin detoxed at home and somehow by the Grace of God and with so many prayers one week later he was still willing to go and we got him on that bus. So many times I felt like he was going to flee, I barely slept last night thinking he would be gone in the morning.. Now I know things are going to be harder than ever but we did point him in the right direction and can only CONTINUE to pray and thank God for this Miracle. Justin started using at 12 and is now 26 and this was a very long time coming.......

Thank god that bus is heading in the right direction. You are very blessed to have had so much help from strangers, God does work in mysterious ways. I will keep Justin in my prayers.

Such a long time coming, indeed! I can't even imagine what you must have been through all these years.

I will pray as I do for my own son, that God will wrap Justin in the light of his protection and his grace. Heal his brain and guide his path to recovery.

Oh the relief and when he checks in it will feel like the boulder sitting on your chest will be lifted.

I just dropped my son at rehab yesterday. This the 4 time around this rehab block but I still have hope.

Oh wow. I am so very happy for you and your son! My son was saved by a Christian based program also. He has now been clean and sober for over 2 years. He still works for the program that saved his life.

Hey Y'all today marks 55 days that I know of that my son is clean and sober! I have only spoken to him twice and received 3 letters but I am fine with that as long as he stays in the program. Its is Christian based and he has been doing it all without any meds whatsoever. This is a kid who has been diagnosed with every mental illness known to man and been prescribed every medicine out there.I am completely baffled as to how he is coping and yet his letters have never been written with more clarity. He said he was even baptized on Easter Sunday and that he really wanted it. I am trying so hard to put my faith in God that this will be the time and place for Justin but its a huge challenge for me. In his letters he talks about coming home. He made a friend the day he arrived and they are both getting out the same day and this friend says he can drive Justin home on his way up North to visit his family and then when he returns he can pick him up and they can go and live in FL. together. This alarms me, first because again Justin is relying on someone else to stay clean and provide for him a life after treatment and second I wanted to hear that he was going into some sort of sober living or aftercare. I have not responded to his mention of all of this but it sure is sending panic signals through my brain. He has until June 10th to come up with a plan and I was really hoping he would come up with something better than this... I am trying to practice my gratitude and my letting go and let God ....and its hard to not just jump up and write to him and tell him NOOO that's a stupid plan.... so that is where I am these days.

That's wonderful! 55 days is serious progress! So happy for you and Justin!

I know what you mean about the panic of him wanting to come home. In my experience with my son, it was a mistake. The rehab warned us that it was a bad decision but my son would have none of it. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin's counselors at his program advise him against it and recommend for him to go straight to sober living.

I've also found with my son that he changes his mind every day about what to do next. Hopefully, your son will decide that coming home is not the best idea after all.

Either way, you have my continued prayers and best wishes for Justin and your family. It's so great to hear he is doing well.
