Where there is a will there is a way. People have been drinking mouth wash for example anything that has ethyl alcohol in it. My friend's brother died this way, he was such a bad alcoholic he would drink anything that contained alcohol. When he died he was only in his 50's but looked like a man in his 80's. His father was a alcoholic also.

My son and his friends did the robatosson (sp) cough syrup..it said right on the bottle that it could make you stop breathing. 6 of them did it together...and I had the receipt for 6 bottles, which is how I found out. Idiots.
I have also heard of people drinking hairspray for the alcohol.

I heard that on the radio this morning too! I mean, I know teenagers like to party, God knows i did, and I am not an addict, never have been. But geesh, I needed my drinks to be sweet and tasty in order to drink enough to get my desired buzz....I can't imagine how that is enjoyable! On the flip side, we never had any issue getting our hands on a keg or other alcholol, does this mean there has been some success in limitting underage access?

That's scary. The 'big thing' at my daughter's elementary school is these little scented hand santizers they get at Bath & Body Works that slip into little rubber cases that attach to the zippers on their backpacks. I bet the school starts banning that once word gets out that some people are misusing it.

Seems to me that we have a lot of unhappy kids with low self esteem out there. Times have changed. Most kids have broken homes and are latch key. The media has destroyed everyone's idea of what is attractive and popular. The lyrics in music is degrading and humiliating and completely desensitizes kids to what used to be seen as outrageous. How many kids get up on Sundays and go to church with a mom, a dad, and siblings? How many eat dinner together around a table every night? What about all of the sexualized and violent video games the kids sit in front of multiple hours a day? And the TV shows where 30 year olds are playing "high school" kids with sex lives, money (but no jobs), and parents who are rarely if ever seen? Our society is doing this to our children. And then we have the genetics of addiction and the generations ahead of them setting the example of burying troubles under pills, booze, or dope. It's a scary world.

It is insane and so friggin out of control what is going on in the world today. i agree with alot of what gmawilli said about the unattended kids the video games music tv etc I am so sad that these kids feel the need to resort to drinking hand sanitizer among other things just to get high. I mean there was always drugs around when i was a teenager in the 80's but today it is so much worse! I also feel like all the electronics have something to do with it lets face it they can go on their computers and search anything today i don't know what the future will hold for them IF they even live to see it. VERY VERY SAD!

When my son was in middle school him and his friends would buy Coricidan pills and it was called skittling. They had websites with step by step instructions teaching them how to get high, what amount to take depending on just how high you wanted to get! Well now they don't sell this stuff to kids, its behind the counter at the pharmacy. The only thing we can do is talk about it openly and try and share all this with other parents that don't know about it. Addiction does not have to have a stigma attached to it. Education is what everyone needs. It is a crazy world out there but we still have the option of helping others and trying to prevent one more kid from becomming addicted.....

I don`t mean to minimize this topic but this brought be back to when I was very young .. Probably jr high school maybe.
Had anyone ever heard of frying marbles and banana skins?
I don`t know what my girlfriend and I were doing or thinking but this must have been a thing to do to maybe get a whiff of something. I have no rememerance... I do know it must of been wrong to do because we snuck doing it in my girlfriends house when her mom was still working after school. We never smoked anything, just fried marbles and banana skins. Now isnt that crazy.
Maybe it was just popular insanity here in my home town but the point is, kids will be kids. Its where they take it and how far they go with it that matters. Some kids can try pot and stop, others cant.. Same with drinks... But most kids will try most anything if they hear others are doing it and your shouldnt , so don`t be too surprised when you hear some of these things. Its just too bad that some of these things your mentioning ssound terribly dangerous.

NEVER in my life would I have thought "Where is the Moral Majority and why are they not here now?"....LOL...I remember thinking 'they are just old fuddy duddies"....not anymore....LOL...(showing my age here)....the sad part is the technology. I love it too, but for all the RIGHT reasons...but kids, well, they want to push the envelope, and now it is just easier with all the information out on the web. The stuff I see just shocks even ME. And THAT is hard to do! But lately getting easier to do. I feel for these kids. If I had a chance to go back to my teen years in this age NO WAY! It was hard enough withOUT the internet and being tied 24/7 to your friends....Sadly, even tv is shameful. I don't find anything appealing for Jersey Shore or any of the reality stuff, besides the fun stuff, dancing with the stars, american idol....

I feel sad for this generation and for the upcoming as well. :O(...

I heard about that on the radio too! scary!! I don't have a computer in my home, and my kids don't carry cell phones. My son goes over to a friends to go online, but I wonder if he is being monitored over there? Sometimes he comes home from there tired and I can tell he hasn't got any sleep all weekend. So It's hard for me to let him go over there. I may just stop him from going over there at all.
But on this subject, my uncle is an alcoholic, and he does the same thing, my daughter is too. They both joke about drinking hand sanitizer, he drinks mouthwash when he has no access to alcohol.

I generally consider that this virus is a political strategy and all governments have an agreement between them. And I'm sure that after many years we'll find out that this situation was staged. I hope that soon they will end this theater and the world will return to normal life.
